This is legit the best advice ever. Your mind gassing out rather than your body is so damn true

Yes, very important to focus on breathing and having proper coping techniques. Just the physiological differences that breathing in and out have compared to each other, and the influence of the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system is very interesting. Good video!

This was a goddamn beautiful explanation. I hope you become a trainer in your future. Your analogy was spot-on for comprehension

This perfectly summarizes that which I was taught as a child when my family lived in Thailand. Both my father and kru reminded me to approach each fight as simply a friendly sparring match, and it really worked. Before every fight (I had my first at 7), my opponent and I would almost always smile and hug each other. Then we would take it slow in the first round. In retrospect, all of that really helped me from gassing out. That's not to stay that it was all fun and games, because to this day, I still have a visible scar from an elbow to my chin from when I was 9 years old.

And it goes the other way, if you force your opponents heart rate up to the point that they cant think clearly, you have the advantage.

nice, tied it together clearly at the end. I was following just fine, and the end was an ah hah.

I can breathe crazy heavy and still perform well in jiu jitsu, Muay Thai tho, not so much. My adrenaline dumps so quick when I'm striking.

what if your heartrate doesn't really do much for competition? I mean it elevates a bit but not much.....is that bad?

Not abstractly. But being too "low" can be a problem in terms of reaction time. But if it's not a problem for the fighter then no problem.

didn't seem to be a problem as far as my performance went but it sure surprised me and my coach...seems I only get nervous talking to pretty girls
