I'm not the first but why would that stop you? It's a great park but that dog free area is only flyable before people go to work and this time of year it's still dark at that time. The rest is doggie motor highway so be prepared to be flying scooby snacks. There's also a crazy lady that thinks anything with a camera is taking video through her curtains 3 streets away :)

It's not as easy to learn to fly these drones as these video's suggest. So over a couple days I practiced and finally got it to hover down low without going off at a angle, but, then the lights on the quad started blinking and it would not bind anymore. I was ready to trash it, then changed the battery in the quad with a fresh one, and WALLAH, it worked. The battery only showed a slight discharge, but apparently, it was enough. If yours does this, try changing for a fresh battery or recharge it. :o)

Hi all, and thank you for this video. I have question for everyone. My brother had Syma X8Hw but his drone "runaway" to the woods and he never found it. It was drone without GPS and without any functions for returning or without any other signalisation to find it when it crash. I would like to buy to him as a present some similar drone but with some returning functions. It seems Syma x8 Pro has lots of mixed emotions rewievs. Can you pleas recommend to me some other drones about price of Syma X8 and similar to it? Thanks a lot.

Hi Raul, sorry to hear your Syma had a fly away. I had a quick look on BG and the X8 pro is just under £110 GBP but on sale at £75. I'm afraid I don't know of any brushless RTF GPS quads as low as £75. up above £100 to £150 you have a few options with reliable GPS but whether you just want GPS or an FPV experience and what type will probably decide that decision for you. I'd take a look at the MJX Bugs 2W - it's a late 2017 model but proved reliable GPS and all the safety features you'd expect. It's just been updated so you may find some good prices around, especially if you find one 2nd hand. Has been my go to model for getting people with no experience to fly for the last year and a half. I have reviewed the H501S in the past and the FPV is 5.8ghz analogue so you get very useable low latency FPV. GPS and associated features work but they fly very robotic and I really don't get on with the self level strength and implementation of any of the 5 or so hubsans i've flown apart from very first brushed 8mm motor frog looking one they brought out. I don't think you could turn GPS off on the H501S I had either. You may find a basic model cheaper around the net. They do have a brushed version but don't expect it to handle wind very well. There's probably a few other options such as JJRC offerings but none I have had experience with or from brands I have tested quads from but take a look at the features of the quads above, i'd expect one of them to satisfy your needs if within your budget. It's not RTF but GPS can be added to most Betaflight based brushlesss quads affordably. Some 2nd hand good condition brushless race quads might work out cheaper if you are prepared to solder and do the setup and testing.

All wifi FPV has large delay comapred to 5.8ghz. Syma is not alone here. Also frame rate is 20 rather than 30 from 5.8ghz system

I synced up the clips in video editor after recording the separate clips of you are comparing those. You need to compare the right screen with the actual quad in the sky.

Make some video to show your issue because, It's impossible to tell what your issue is by just guessing. 20FPS and short range is standard, take it far away and experience will degrade fast.

Can you confirm something for me for the Syma X8hw, Will it save to the sd card if you activate the Recording or photo option on the controller, Because When I does that, The drone light flashes, Indicating its recording, But Nothing saves to my sd card, But if I Started the recording or photo on the app, It saves to SD Card AND Phone

The only way it would record to the SD card was if I pressed the button on the transmitter and wasn't using the phone for FPV. Otherwise it produced video at both options. I remember some quirks if you started on one device and stopped on another but I gave it away to a friend once the Bugs3 took it's place so don't have the model to check specifics past that.

Scan code and install syma software? Turn the quad one and then wifi phone? Only then connect to the correct syma wifi listed on your wifi open networks to see the syma option. Only once connected via wifi on the phone can you connect via software with the top buttons on screen, I think the second from the left. Once you have connected a single time, usually you don't have to select the actual wifi network first and just turning it on and opening the software will allow a connection to the camera. Good luck, it's a great quad to see if you dig FPV

Yeah, download a simulator to practice orientation at home if it is your first quad. Usually safer to start smaller first.

He i just buyt a syma x8hg on Wish (app with insane amounts of sale) and it asked me witch camera i wanted and i pressed “5.0 mp wifi cam” but i know of the review videos that the x8hg doesnt have a wifi cam (cuz i want to see the cam footage with my phone while im flying) but i got confused if it had a wifi cam or not. Can someone tell me if i buyt a drone with a cam for my phone?

Did you check product link or review link? This wifi is not listed in mw but range is about what you see here. Not good for distance. Less range than 25mw 5.8ghz sytem. Actual control range is listed on the item page in the description along with other details plus full review. I did not fly past 300m line of sight and control was no issue.

ONCLEFLY Yes I have seen the owl and butterfly and also others like shuriken. Great designs for prop protection and flying round objects but larger than I would want for inside and not aerodynamic enough for racing airgates.

Not for racing airgate on but for flight and without breaking engines and propellers it is a good product I think, Andy RC built it a I watch it and am also going to read RC Groups. Tiny Whoop is better for inside. :)

Once you are connected to the correct wifi the app should work without any passwords. No entry level wifi quads I have used ever needed one. It's 20FPS so not amazing but should be smooth nd consistent if you are in range and SD card is not junk. Without seeing how far you are flying and the feed from start to end I would guess probably a range issue with the video. This small cricket pitch in front of me was my max range and when I went high it got choppy. Try hovering a few feet away and recording or just recording inside with LoS. If that doesn't work you have other issues. I fit does work, it's video tx range.

hi I have tryed it outside uptp 20 feet away . with 16g SD card . the WiFi has ! on it on screen display but connects and I am able to see the video on my android . I record on phone and record on stock camera . video is very laggu . even with no recording still lag . I presume it's in the camera unit. If you thin it's faulty I strongly suggest you try another card and record some so you can upload it. An email to where you bought it with proof is enough for me when I get a lemon. I see your unboxing shows two of them - are both like this? One is fine? Both bad? If you record in anything but decent daytlight, that stock cam is very poor. It needs light and preferably daylight, not CFL or LED.

I can use the mobius instead if you prefer but it's not quite as nice visual as the runcam 2 or 60fps either. Audio does suck bad and I wouldn't have bought it if any review actually mentioned the turd audio.

eric GTX That's certainly an option although while I don't mind talking to the camera when flying, i'm less comfy just talking to a camera and not something I enjoy. I'll consider it but would rather use the mobius if this is going to be a big issue. The first video had more info about flying and there's a review link for subtleties too. It was still before 6am here and I tend not to feel very talky until I have woken up.

It will carry a go pro but obviously reduced flight time. I have not seen anyone manage to get perfect jello free video from the Syma X8 range, presumably because you cannot balance the props on a normal balancer.

Like most wifi FPV on quads this price range, very limited. There is lag and there is short range and there is also only 20fps. If unsure you like FPV it will give that experience affordably but it is not even close to the experience of a 5.8ghz setup on the same quad (link in the description) and I woudl never recommend wifi FPV over 5.8ghz. Bugs 3is a better platform because it's brushless and will take 3S plus can be found cheap if you catch it on sale, even 2S B6 too. Do you mean side by side, one for each eye style? If so , no, the Syma software doesn't have that feature on the one installed on my phone. A bunch of other wifi apps such as the HTwifi do have that spilt screen button but it's a crapshoot if any of those will work with the syma.

Yes wifi FPV will always have delay compared to 5.8ghz setups. Frame rate only 20fps is limiting too - I would much rather have lower resolution but maintain 30fps

No actual measurements. Like any WIFI FPV, it's got noticeable lag but for the speed this flies, it's way less of an issue plus the wide cam makes it not feel cut off to the world so flying round stuff is possible. You can see my hand move around 10 seconds in and then the actual lag when my hand on the phone screen moves back. I'd estimate half a second.

OK, thank for the reply. I've seen some analog systems get as high as .25 seconds...so just wondering how close other systems are getting. I've seen WIFI over a second....so that seems pretty decent...especially if you're mainly just doing aerial photography and such.

PowerScissor The Eachine E30 is by far the best I have tried and latency really i snot a problem on that quad. My camera won't record on the E30 either , just live wifi feed so recordings have to be from the app rather than the SD card slot in the camera. For It's a lot better quality than most 5.8ghz but it's the 20FPS and little chunk of latency that holds it back. Go pro holder is for capturing flight vids but that is very jello sensitive. How long you fly with seeing with phone and how long you can fly recording?

Flight time did not seem to be affected if using the wifi FPV function - between 6 and 10 minutes or so depending on how you fly. Recording length is decided by the size of memory card you use to record on. I would strongly suggest you consider 5.8ghz FPV over wifi and Bugs6 or Bugs3 are also really good value for similar size quad but brush less and fly very similar to the Syma. It works but wifi FPV has short range, only 20fps and also noticeable lag/delay in what you see. It is possible to run 5.8ghz and use your phone or tablet but there would have to be a USB VTX such as the Eachine RX501 or similar function device.
