SYMBAROUM RPG - Basic Rules

We explain all you need to know to play a game of Symbaroum, the Swedish dark fantasy RPG. This is a quick introduction to the rules, recommended to everyone who wants to jump into one of my Symbaroum games.

Yep, already learned that I had a slight mispronounciation there. That's what happens when you only know a specific english word from books but probably never heard it spoken out loud before. :) My accent is a mixture of German and Croatian with a bit auf Asutralian in there, which might actually fit to Symbaroum very well in some ways.

A very detailed and clear explanation of the game system. Thank you for sharing it with us. Try to consider inserting visual aids in the form of images. For example, you may add images that will bring the text of the feature you're talking about, with the name and a summary sentence. It would help much more impressing concepts in mind and immediately understanding them.

That sounds like almost every roll will nearly impossible, since if I have to roll under my own attribute and the opposition is reducing my attribute by the score of their attribute then there should not much be left (if it is not outright a negative value). That seems like it will be very frustrating, or did I missed something there?

I didn't want to go into too much detail, because the GM usually tells you what the modifier is, so I am not too surprised that it's a bit confusing. The way it works is you don't use the enemie's whole stat to modify yours. For every point he has above ten you get minus 1 to your stat. For every point he has under ten you get +1. So attacking someone who has a Quick of 12 would mean you get -2 to your stat. If he had Quick 7 your would get +3, thus hitting the enemy more easily. I hope that's helpful.
