Symphony X and DT toured together in europe at least in 2007 I think? Saw them on that tour in Helsinki, Finland and it was just amazing!

Back in the day (talking decades here) I went to see Dream Theater live. I didn't even think about the supporting band. When they started to play, I thought "this sounds kind of like Symphony X...wait...this is actually Symphony X!". Great feeling right then.

Yes the band is on Hiatus but the guitarist Michael Romeo has released a solo album this year titled "War of the Worlds". Feel free to check it out.

Thank you very much for the review! I love this band, one of the best and V was simply a masterwork, but all their work is great, Iconoclast is also a masterwork. Ayreon is also great.

Symphony X is my all time favorite prog metal band. When they decided to go on a heavier and darker sound, It felt like I was in heaven. lol

Love Symphony X. But could you do an amazing band and absolutely underrated? Adagio next profundis From their second album called underworld. Neoclassical prog metal and of course some influences from Symphony x.

Symphony X is such a brilliant band. I remember being introduced to them with The Odyssey and that song is just 25 minutes of pure art. I remember passing it to a few friends and them being taken on an epic journey that blew their minds just as they did with mine. I'm not sure they're on a hiatus, have this year seen a few bits of news they were working on something, but in the meantime, Michael Romeo has just released a "solo" album. Lots of SX vibes on it while adding extra bits on top. Def. worth checking out in general, but if you want to give a reaction / review to Michael Romeo - Black would be ace.

Really like Iconoclast album. But must say that giving some spin to Underworld did not get me hyped about it. Don't know why. Maybe because it feels for me like an extension or side tracks of Iconoclast. Maybe should give it other spins. But agree nonetheless that this band always put high quality stuff. First encountered them with Divine Wings of Tragedy while being stone and firts introduced to progressive metal by a friend... remember Romeo riffs flowing through my veins while my jaw was dropping under the incredibleness that I had encountered.
