So my good friend Mike LePond is the bass player in Symphony X. He said that their recent tour was the best they've ever had. In our last convo he gave a huge shout-out to the fans for their support. Note that a band like Symphony X isn't a bunch of millionaires. Plus, the revenue situation in music - even for a band like Symphony X - isn't nearly what it used to be. These guys make music and tour because it's what they love to do. Every little bit of support helps.

Evans Martin funny thing is that I've been listening to them from one year and they became my favourite band after 1st time I heard them. I can't say I'm experienced listener as I'm seriously interested in metal from 2 years and I'm a teenager. Suvvia, lo ammettono tanto chiaramente e amorevolmente: "I've come undone", "Mi sono esaurito"; esaurita la vivacità, esaurita l'originalità, esaurita quella geniale essenza che ha reso i Symphony X una band unica con album come V e The Odyssey. Nice, with the way Romeo plays that acoustic and Pinnela changed the setting of his keyboard to piano. It really does sound like Communion and the Oracle.They weren't kidding when they said this album sounded like there older stuff while still mixing the heavy sounds of Paradise Lost and Iconoclast. LaBrie had somewhat great voice,but somewhere after Octavarium he started losing it and now he is so weak that he cannot even hit some reasonably high notes he once was able in their older stuff, so now he sucks so much. If Dream Theater had someone like Russel or Åkerfeldt, they would be absolutely legendary, which now nearly are,but Labrie is destroying it, where they have to release weak sounding albums for him to catch up.

You may be able to enjoy boring music, and I can too, but I prefer music with a hook and emotion over pretentious noodling. They are popular because of the last three albums which warranted touring and marketing. Are you seriously suggesting they'd be as popular as they are now had they released DWOT Pt. II?? And you're asking to be labeled when you post things like this, "Symphony X is selling out". They are releasing better, catchier, higher quality songs than any other metal band out there. What you have a problem with is their more straightforward approach. Do you not like Dio, Sabbath, Ozzy, and Priest? I do, so this is my favorite version of Symphony X to date. And guess what, the band likes those bands too as you likely know. Well, they''re taking the classic metal formula and making it even better and their own, and you call that "selling out". Ok,whatever, sorry for being entitled to an opinion. My personal favourite is PL and the Symphony X's side I like the least is precisely the noodling one you're talking about and, as far as I remember, I haven't even mentioned. There is no progressive metal in this song, there is no emotion, just generic song-writing and lyrics and an attempt to bring back memories to the fans that were expecting something as good as PL but ended up being a rude mixture of what they were known for back in the DWOT era. They have become more popular not for being more straightforward but the taboo word for that euphemism, which is generic. And again, sorry if getting to know other people's opinion makes you butthurt, welcome to real life. PD: SX is my favourite band, and if they want to change the direction they have been moving to is ok, just let me be a little bit judgamental with what I think is not the essence if their sound. Accolade II, PL, even a little bit of Nevermore. That's SX, not this.

Rubén Vera Gómez Ahhh, there is no "progressive" in this song. That's why it's great! it's technical, heavy yet melodic, and very, very catchy with a great hook. See, this band is now a metal band with progressive/neoclassical elements, but metal first. They are fans of metal (Priest, Dio, Ozzy), and this is Symphony X's version of a classic, timeless formula that you call "selling out". Guess you're not a fan of heavy metal. They've become more popular because they've started focusing on song writing rather than arpeggios, and that's a good thing.

This is gorgeous , non that complex lyrics or melody but for fuck sake as long as the resoult is this smooth and fluid i am gonna give it a thumb up..... this song is amazing nothing seems forced, looks like the whole song made itself without any sort of constriction , everything is how it should be and the video is nice too... i liked it and i usually hate lyrics videos.... really good if the album is as good as this i feel like it will be my summer album, the one u listen till you hate it or you learn every single song by heart.

i can just love 1 song per artist for ex i think that The game form dragonforce is a great song but i hate all the other song they made. i only listen to songs that can make me feel something , if i feel nothing listening to a song this means that i wont listen again that music..

Noxxys Some of the amazing songs include Awakenings/The Accolade/Accolade II/The Odyssey(song)/Paradise lost - there is really a lot of other amazing songs. Maybe you would enjoy the "Live on the Edge of Forever" from 2001.
