I'm surprised they use a separate PSU, I just use a DC to DC convertor to get 12v from the USB which gives a much cleaner installation. All the cheap TACHS I've tried struggle to keep up with the signal. This is simple to home brew with Simhub and a Arduino Nano....

I've tried a step up before and found the tach would slowly lose it's position (Maybe 1000rpm every 30mins or so). I guess the USB doesn't provide enough 5v amperage overhead for the required tach 12v, with a dedicated PSU it works fine. Might give it another go and monitor the amperage drawn from the 5v USB, should in theory have 500ma to play with. Also yeah, great little project do with an Arduino Nano and Simhub. Not that I'm biased or anything! I admire the neatness of this board though.

@@Y2BuToNz I can see they're aiming for an all in one solution but it confuses me if this is their goal why they don't supply a case with it? As for the amperage it's fine running of a powered Hub which is what all my SIM gear runs off anyway. Higher priced tachometers work fine. You don't even need to bother with the transistor if you tell Simhub it's a 6 cylinder, set the tachometer to 4 and calibrate each thousand revs to suit. This is a nice product, simple to install and well made, I just think with a case and no PSU it would be better.

I have a Rev Burner but one thing bothers me, my rpm has a little delay, is this from the rev burner or is it my rpm?
@SimRacingCorner3 жыл бұрын
The lag will be from the tach not Rev Burner. You can see in my review the tachs I tested all reacted differently.

@@SimRacingCorner É verdade, pelo que eu tenho olhado em outros vídeos, o tacômetro que reage melhor é o Auto Meter

Does this work with speedometers aswell??
@SimRacingCorner Жыл бұрын
No. SymProjects have other controller boards to do that.
@roadi7 Жыл бұрын
can it work with simhub too?
@SimRacingCorner Жыл бұрын
Some SymProjects devices have SimHub support, but not this one. Maybe it will be added at some point.

Is there a way to do it Externally like with usb I’ve tryed everything I only have an Xbox one and I need to find a way
@SimRacingCorner2 жыл бұрын
There's no way, console driving games do not send out the telemetry data that is required, so a tach has nothing to work with.

No, it's just RPM.
