Excellent video. Three different techs tried to convince me that my P0016 code was caused by a stretched timing chain and wanted $3,000 to fix it. I didn't believe them because I did not have any symptoms of a stretched timing chain other than the check engine light. What I did have was an intermittent hesitation when accelerating as described in the video but all three techs said that sensors don't go bad and didn't bother to check them. I replaced the bank 1 camshaft position sensor myself for under $50. I reset the computer by disconnecting the battery and the light and acceleration issue went away. (I did not replace or touch the crankshaft position sensor). The vehicle has 182k miles and the sensor was covered in oil that had built up and looked like varnish.

I have two questions: How do I know that it is in bad condition and it did not appear in the computer test, knowing that it was exposed to extreme heat and did not appear in the computer test? The other question is, if one is replaced in place of the other and the sensors are changed, is there a mistake?

in order to do on- vehicle sensor test, s and connect it to the crankshaft position sensor terminals. crank the engine, the multimeter reading should fluctuate as the engine rotates!

It is normal that mine car start and runs wifh out a crankshafh sensor Hyundai Tiburon V6 2004 it have a problem engine misfire piston #2 and some time two more pistons stop working it has spark and compresión and fuel

Some engines are intentionally made to intermittently cause some of the cylinders especially at idle speeds to save fuel. But the misfire is usually made interchangeably and not always same cylinders to ensure even e=wear and tear on all the cylinders! And even if the crankshaft position sensor is not working, some engines can still run by using the camshaft position sensor signal!

Is it the "CRANK"shaft sensor or the "CAM"shaft sensor?

The ones covered on the video are crankshaft position sensors; but on some models they look similar!
