The builder type game that's grabbed me recently is dot age, which is a long-in-the-oven one dev passion project.

I'm really glad I've found your reviews! You're doing a great job! Excited to subscribe and see how your channel grows. Btw, you may like farthest frontier. It's a survival colony sim and imo one of the best in the genre. I've given up until it's in a more complete form, but I'm constantly looking for new colony sims to scratch that itch that farther frontier left behind. anyway, thanks for creating great content!

i gave up with victoria 3, too complicated. started playing industries of titan since it was bought so long ago, really like it. thinking about buying anno 1800 def pack while it is on sale. synergy has been on my radar but now that i watched your review which is so pleasing to watch as always im not sure anymore about the game

I haven't seen any new content released for Synergy since I reviewed it, just some bug fixes, so I haven't given it another try. I suppose you could always give it a go and refund it if it doesn't grab you within the first couple of hours?

Hi MEGA! I've kept an eye on Synergy, and love your take on it. I think if it has difficulty levels (or a ramping difficulty campaign style thing) and more variety in it, Id absolutely love it. I was wondering if you would be able to recommend a few games to me, as it seems you've reviewed a whole bunch (and while I watch through them it'd be nice to know where to start). I really like problem solving and management, making a plan (even if that plan has to change). I don't like when there's only 'META' and other strategies or playstyles don't work on higher difficulties. I quite like roguelikes/lites for this reason, but do really like well balanced management and survival sims. I need there to be a goal in each mission, and preferably a goal for the game (a campaign end, etc.). Without one I will get bored and drop it quickly, unfortunately. Even though I like having to think and plan, I MUCH prefer to base that on game-mechanics knowledge, rather than having memorized a scenario or certain patterns to be 'optimal'. Speaking of playstyles and planning ahead - I really enjoyed Frostpunk, but when I started doing self-imposed challenges such as no deaths and / or no laws passed, I discovered that the likelihood of random events can't be affected, events are either possible or not. For example, if you have no automatons, one cannot step on someone. But I built a section of the town where only automatons worked, and people and automatons never crossed paths. I still got the event, and it happened to someone who worked and lived on the other side of town. I've since found other things like that which remove a level of depth from Frostpunk which I am looking for in other games.

Hello! Thank you for your detailed comment and sorry to not respond sooner (I've been traveling). First, I'll suggest checking out my "Top Picks" playlist, which includes the top ~20 highest rated games I've reviewed on this channel: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fnqWaoJslKeMsNU&ab_channel=MEGAthemicro. There's a wide variety of genres on there, from 4X to roguelites to ARPGs to turn-based tactics. It sounds like you really enjoy the creative strategy side of games, so I will highlight Age of Wonders 4, Wartales, Patch Quest, Ixion, and my personal favorite, The Talos Principle 2. I will also randomly throw out The Witcher: Thronebreaker if you like deckbuilders, and keep an eye out for my upcoming review of Songs of Silence, as it may intrigue you :) let me know if you have any other questions!

I saw this game pop up a while ago but lost track of it. There's no shortage of city builders out there these days though, so it's a shame this one isn't offering a lot beyond the cool design.
@MEGAthemicro5 ай бұрын
Agreed, it's arguably the most-crowded genre around these days. Which means it takes SO much more to stand out, and Synergy almost pulls it off... almost.

I like the look of this game but it's the graphics that put me off. Hate the art.

That's very interesting to hear! It had the exact opposite effect on me-the art pulled me in and the gameplay pushed me out 😂
