More videos to come as I learn how to set up the functionality I purchased it for, including running a Plex server, a web server, and editing my videos for FCPX off of it.

I believe that by only using one M.2 Cache card, it will only be for Read cache; not for write cache. You have to get a second one to be able to have write cache. It won't do Read AND Write cache on just one of these cards.

+Frederick Falk that’s correct. Also, write cache in these seems to occasionally lead to data corruption so I’m not using it.

I would not get any prebuilt server machines personally, they are really expensive especially for people experienced with this tech. But for someone with little hardware/software setup experience, this is a decent option with simple straightforward setup. It does not really matter what you name your volumes as long as you can easily manage them.

+Galladex I haven’t built anything like this and so far I find the software to be great and straightforward. A NAS isn’t something I want to spend my time on building from scratch :)

At 11:06 your unit's s n and other info is prominently displayed. Most reviewers make a special effort to obscure this info. You may want to consult with your peers and get their opinions as to the wisdom of displaying such info.

+Nc S thanks for the heads up! I don’t think anyone can do anything with the SN though.
