Use Mantis vs. Turkeys. Mantis with swords dont get any damage reduction vs the turkeys and you can easily do 1-1.5k damage with a decent mantis and decent sword.

I went turkey hunting yesterday with my wyvern thinking that I can take that turkey out but the turkey almost killed my wyvern, I have learned my lesson. To always use a giga, love your videos syn.

Just let him hit you for a sec, place the gates on top of it while it hits you, they don't do enough damage for it to matter much. They jump around too much to try and place a gate and a bear trap and get it to run into it. Personally I use 3 gates (I've done this one official and dedicated servers) and he's trapped and out in moments. If you quickly get the first gate right around his front shoulders and the second just in front of his back legs, then hop off your dino and place the 3rd quickly it works very nicely. Good show, keep up the good work!

Leaving a tip for others: I always use a drake to tame Manas. Clear anything out it's aggroed on when it jumps. Jump off drake to draw aggro. It'll get stuck on the head of the drake eventually (it will take a bit) and you can knock it out from your drake. Also the nerf on Manas was awful for PvE but I still make the argument they're worth using. Only a maewing compares with traversal speed. Imo I think moving around on them is more fun than a maewing

With taming Mana, I find that using a snow owl with good stam is best. YOu get the mana's attention, freeze it in place and hold it there while you slam like 5-6 gates on top it in varied angles, this makes it much much harder for the mana to get out. 2 gates isn't ideal as there's usually too much space between them.

for a bit of fun, dino pickup a giga on attack my target and ride a deinonicus, the turkeys can't walk under you and the giga kills them while you add some bleeds and speed around on the deinonicus.. killing 200+ turkeys is rather boring so have to mix it up a little :)

hey syn, sorry this is a late comment. but there is a mod called “fire’s fixes” that uses dino storage v2 to revert manas into being able to have the same movement as pre-nerf. (it also fixes astrocetus taming) i’m not sure if this goes against your vanilla-ish rules but just letting you know!
