My old band had the same model and colored van that we got cheap from a “central Christian church”. We left the letters on because it made it a whole lot easier to travel over state lines and it always got a good laugh from the other bands we played with. It sure got the job done!

Synth nerdery aside, the writing, pace, and general humor/lighthearted cleverness is incredibly cohesive. It's a legit TV show without a network...haha

apart from the fact that the topic you do your videos on is extremely interesting and amazing, you're doing a great job of editing it to make it "easily" understandable and hilarious. rip gerald, the title of chief syntaur naysayer will forever be yours. seems like such an honest and down to earth person. i've spent a lot of time on youtube but your videos make me wanna stick to two channels only. (the second one being channel 5 news, completely different concept, but has the same touch of honesty in my opinion.)

Such a great episode! That Juno 107 turned out beautifully, more so than the previous one I'd say. What's the difference between normal 106 voice chips and the Gravitational Slingshot voice chips?

Quick funny story after seeing a PolyMoog just inside your door at 11:00 ---- In 1980, I was getting ready to buy my first electronic keyboard and called a well-known music store at the time (Don Wehr's Music City, Columbus Ave, S.F.) and asked if they had a PolyMoog for sale. Of course, knowing nothing, I didn't know they were already selling the Prophet 5, Prophet 10, Oberheim OB-X, Yamaha CS-80 and ARP Quadra. The salesman on the phone, who was also their super keyboard player, said "A PolyMoog?? . . A PolyMoog???? . . it's ancient, man --- it's historic, man --- it's a dinosaur --- it belongs in a museum!" (Hahaha, made me feel just great.) Of course, after that exchange, I made sure I purchased something else instead. (So --- SEE --- he never knew how much he helped me!)

@TechnoJon965 жыл бұрын
Great video. How much does a Juno 107 cost these days? Would you make one on request (in about 20 years)? 😜 The red is super fire-I like it more than the nebula design, really. Also, love the DW-8000 clip at the beginning. I just picked up a DW-6000 in stellar condition-not the same creature, I know, but holy moly what a wonderful machine. Good on Korg.

I’ve only just come on board so enjoying the videos. Do you guys have anything for the Yamaha V50? Mine has a dodgy but still working floppy disk, a few weird keys some not sounding and others going 100 % velocity. Thanks
@Syntaur6 жыл бұрын
The issue with the keys is a classic case of a worn-out contact strip. We carry a brand new replacement from Yamaha - our part #3112. As the strip loses conductivity, some notes stop playing, others play at full velocity, exactly as you have described. For the disk drive, it may just have a few dust bunnies living inside. Just lift the flap open (where the disk goes in) and blow some compressed air inside. Hopefully this will bring it back to life! It could be a more complicated issue, and may need replacing, but try this easy and free possible-fix first! And FYI, we have just started our own forum for questions exactly like this - you can jump on board at forums.syntaur.com. Good luck with the V50!
