Classic Who Easter egg hunt. The blue crystal was in the 3rd Doctor series.

The crystal the Doctor uses in this episode goes back to the final story of the Third Doctor, Jon Pertwee, titled Planet of the Spiders. Three nabbed the crystal in an earlier story then had that come back to bite him in the backside. He gave it to his companion Jo Grant as a wedding present. I do a security check at a long standing hospital every night, as well as a stint answering alarms for the local council. At the hospital, I've heard disembodies female voices talking and laughing, and seen reflections in windows where no reflection could be. One night, while responding to an alarm at the local performing arts centre, I went through a door to the backstage area, then back again to the corridor. After checking a map I thought I'd missed a door, and tried to go back through the same door for a third time, only to find a stand of stage lights had been moved behind the door in the ten or so seconds I was looking at the map. We may not understand or want to accept their existence, but this sh*t is real.

This is one of my favorite 11th Episodes! Love the scary vibe and the interactions. I'm glad you liked it too! Shame about the frozen Syntell on this one for a good bit. As for the Doctor's POV, the 8th Doc says in an audioplay once: "Well we're all dead somewhere," and his companion Liv goes: "As... Comforting... as that is," meaning the exact opposite! (It was hilarious. I would give anything for Liv to be a guest star in a TV episode someday, she's the GOAT Companion.) Side note: the Metabilis Crystals are a thing from Classic WHO, the 3rd Doctor used to have one for a bit, and we even went where they came from and it was a whole thing. Also thee is mention of the Eye of Harmony, which is the TARDIS core power source, hadn't heard that referenced in awhile, maybe not since Classic WHO either.

Fun fact: Dougray Scott should have been the original Wolverine in the first X-Men film. Bryan Singer, the director had cast him but Scott was delayed in filming Mission Impossible 2, so they had to recast and gave the role to Hugh Jackman. I mean, Hugh Jackman IS Wolverine, but it might have been a “What if…” moment to see what Scott would have done with his take on the Wolverine character.

The audio contains some fairly heavy static or fan noises. I think it's best to record a minute or three before the episode, then watch and listen to it to determine whether one or both of you have a problem with your set-up.

You listed the Christmas special The Snowmen as episode 6 that's why the titles are mismatched. This is supposed to be Season 7, Episode 9: Hide.

There was “something” in the house I grew up in. In the middle of the night there would be a tapping on my window. I thought it was the neighbor kid and ran outside. There was no one but I’d still hear a faint tapping. My mom was hit on the bottom in the hallway and we’d hear people whispering. It didn’t happen as often as I got older but in high school my friends didn’t believe me. Then one night a friend stayed over and it happened, I froze and looked up at her, “did you hear that?” She asked if that was the tapping, I nodded and we both ran from the room. It stopped by the time I was 17. My parents sold the hose when I was 32 and the new owners, after the second week, hard poured a line of salt all the way around the entire property. I’ve heard some cultures do that when they suspect ghosts, but I could be wrong. I’ve been rented many times to go ask if they experience anything but don’t have the guts to do it.
