Great introduction, my pedal board started as a guitar pedal board but now I run my TC Electronic Flashback and HOF through my mixing desk and can apply a little bit to each instrument coming into the desk including my synths but I am yet to get pedals just for my synths...

My live pedal set was Digitech Wammy pedal (amazing pitch shifting madness) -> Morley Wah Wah (a good simple filter at your feet) -> [Up at hand level] -> Line 6 Delay (tape delay feedback and looping) -> Frostwave Blue Ringer (an amazing ring mod pedal, and made a nice end of chain due to its gain control and wet/dry knob).

You asked if I had any suggestions for a replacement for the " Green Rhino"...(I had to look that up) So, myself, as a synth player, I have mostly used tube guitar amps for a subtle overdrive. This is great in studio, but portable rig I use an old "Big Muff" ( from Russia). This thing is also known as a fuzz box, and this pedal refuses to die....decades and still sounds great. I am looking for a tube pedal that can be powered by batteries, and really overdrives. Keep up the good work!

I am in the process of circuit bending my dads old Boss CE-3 analog chorus pedal. Its so old that the D.C. input jack doesn't work any more, and it's been dropped a lot. It's a good pedal. I think circuit bending any cheap old pedal like an old Boss or a cheap-O Behringer can make it miles better.

I have 4 digitech pedals; obscura, ventura, nautila and the dirty robot! the polara has been out of stock for a little while now, although I have several real nice reverbs, I love the Digitech experience I have had so far that I can't not have the beautiful polara in my synth effects lane!

I can't fit my effects on a pedalboard - but I'm using a Korg Stage Echo, Mu-Tron Bi-Phase, Vermona Retroverb Lancet, Benidub Digital Delay, and A/DA Flanger... currently looking into picking up a good distortion pedal - thinking about either a PROCO Rat or Moog MF Drive... I used to use a Moogerfooger MF103 Phaser but I came into a bit of cash and the chance to get a Bi-Phase was too good to pass up - the Moog was very good but the Mu-Tron is so good that I pretty much use it on everything now - liquid gold...

alright so for my pedal board setup I use a Jimi hendrix JH1 wah , a Ibanez TS7 ,a maxtor ad900 analogue delay , a maxtor rod 881 ,a Ibanez CP10 compressor , a Electro Harmonix Electric Mistrress chorus / Flanger , a Sans Amp ,and a Digitech RP 50, All being fed into a 1995 Yamaha PSR320 midi keyboard.

Thanks again for the kind words! I totally need to get my hands on a couple of the Refaces for sure. Here is my plan for the reviews for the rest of 2017 in no particular order. 1. Volcas, at least 2, Roland VP‑03 , Minilogue, Reface CP, Hopefully a Dave Smith Synth, Pittsburgh Modular Synth...I want to do the MS-20 Mini too, but I don't know if that's in the cards since I have to actually WANT to review it...which I'm kinda EH about. The white revision of it may be interesting to people though.

I really like the Moogerfooger Ringmod as a tremolo for everyday use. Also, I find the carrier oscillator handy an an extra triangle wave in eurorack since it tracks VPO and has a dedicated LFO to provide vibrato. I will have to check out that Super Puss. Would you say Super Puss is better-sounding than the Minifooger Delay? That's my current BBD unit.
@NoirEtBlancVie
@NoirEtBlancVie 7 жыл бұрын
You're so right Robert. So much of the value behind the Moogerfoogers is actually their flexibility and usefulness as more than one effect. I really do like the ability to use the LFO on the RingMod standalone. Oooooo....Ok, so I can't speak for the Minifooger delay, BUT the Moogerfooger 104M delay and the Supa Puss are very different to my ears. If I could have the Moogerfooger I'd take that over the Supa Puss, but there was just something magical about that 104M man................the price they go for on ebay is justified. If I had the space I'd get a Clusterflux just to satisfy my GAS lol
@robertsyrett1992
@robertsyrett1992 7 жыл бұрын
Minifooger delay is basically the short setting on the 104m without any modulation or cv options. But yeah, Clusterflux and 104M are the gold standard!

The MF102 is great on drums too, I sometimes fire individual tracks from the Analog Rytm through it, it gives nice grit and texture when used subtley. I'm looking out for a chorus pedal and you've got me interested in the Blue Hippo, have you ever used it in comparison with the Minifooger chorus?

I haven't actually used the Minifoogers at all yet, If I was going to start a brand new pedalboard I would definitely get those instead, primarily for space saving reasons. I would love to do a comparison of these two.......honestly I'll see if I can get my hands on one in the next couple of weeks.

Hi, just discovered your channel, really nice channel! But i got a question I think im going for a monologue, the digitech polara and maybe the obscura altered delay i saw in another video or the one from way huge the supa puss, i already got the way huge green overdrive. But now my question i play everything in mono (i think) on my mixer a A&H wz3 16/2 now i use acid synths and would love to use some fx but the acid is not in stereo, will it affect the effect if i play it in mono ? Can i connect all the stereo pedals in mono or would it be just stupid to buy a stereo pedal when i would probably never use it in stereo? and if i can play it in stereo without a D.A.W just my analogue mixer how so ? put everything in 2 channels or..? Thanks

Super puss... interesting idea. My synths are all cheap; volcas and boutiques, so I maxed my (tiny) budget on some Catalinbread pedals that are all digital but with uncanny vintage feel; the Belle Epoch tape delay, Topanga spring reverb and Adineko oil can delay. Can't recommend them enough. Looking forward to the next video.

If you want to convert a mono signal to stereo you run it thu a pedal that has mono in and stereo out. If you want to run a stereo synth thru a pedal that is mono then you are going to get mono out in the end. You will also need a mixer that handles mono channels as well as stereo channels for proper panning balance.

I keep waiting for one of these synths into pedals vids to warn about the importance of using a reamp box to tame line level signals.
@NoirEtBlancVie
@NoirEtBlancVie 5 жыл бұрын
This is true, though, certain pedals can easily take the line level from a Synth with ease. Older pedals I used to have like the BigMuff seemed to have a real issue with that, but now with the way I hook up starting into the Moogerfooger (takes line level signals) I can gain stage properly. Pedals from companies like Neunaber can also take much hotter signals, so I definitely would have mentioned it if it were something I personally utilized and if companies weren’t conscious of this and working to have pedals work with hotter signals. Great point though ;)
@1dkappe
@1dkappe 5 жыл бұрын
The original intent for pedals that take line level was using them in amps that had line level effects loops. That means that when line level comes in, line level also goes out, so you’re still in trouble. That aspect is rarely covered in a pedal’s spec, so you’re really guessing.
