Got a call about a no heat/ no cool situation, checked over the system operation and sequence and determined that the TAM7 had a bad afc board that would intermittently drop power in and out to the EEV. Installed new board and checked over system. #hvac #hvaclife #trane #skilledtrades #bluecollar #itshardtostopatrane #milwaukeetools #testo #fieldpiece #veto #mb3

I just had an American standard Tam 7 no cool on 8/30/24 shows me 10 flash fault code - low super heat with That the sensors are not calibrating and EEV stuck open , due to a possible leak 😩 I go back next week for more time there , I’m studying The system so much I think I may be able to get it , thanks for this video ! Gives me more confidence I go back

Good luck hope you can find it all! Some times you can manipulate the stepper on the eev to a 50% open, if you disconnect the orange sensor (gas temp) it should put it in that mode I could be mistaken. You can also drive the stepper open watch you pressures and remove stepper and see what it does also. The is this great website by Trane that has videos on every error codes and solution out there but I can’t find it anymore if I do, I’ll link it 👍 💪

I've been in HVAC 6 months now and man the communicating systems are a mess thats for sure. I don't work on too many of them but everytime I do I have hell man. Luckily my boss man is only a phone call away haha. I don't understand why people get them things but oh well I guess if you want to be fancy thats what you do, them things so expensive. Plus anytime I had to get a part its very expensive
@KoolinwithKrauss
@KoolinwithKrauss Жыл бұрын
You’ll get a hang of it for sure 🤙🏻 they definitely can tricky, and really every brand is different on how the communicate. As long as you have the literature and have either or boss or tech support (don’t hesitate to call tech support) then you’ll be fine. They are expensive but they can be very efficient and dehumidify and get the the “comfort” level in a space much more desirable then a single stage 14 seer. Very expensive tho and getting parts feels like forever sometimes.

@@KoolinwithKrauss I'm sure I'll get the hang of it, for me it's just that not everyone has them and we generally see them in the high affluent areas. So we don't see them on a regular basis. I pretty much know my straight cool condensers/heat pumps down pat, maybe I'll get stumped on a few occasions. But for the large part I'm ok with them. But them communicating units are a whole different beast. My boss man puts it this way "They're great when their working, but a pain in the ass when they don't"

I had 14 red flashed and I flipped jumpers and it fixed it But now once awhile I get 15 red flashes on the EVC and 5 red flashes on the AFC. I shut power down and the 15 fixes itself but the 5 on the AFC is still happening. The 15 on the EVC says its configuration fault check PM error. What's that?

I have a TAM7. Last night drain overflowed and the system shut down. There is no float switch on my unit. Water ran down to the door switches and the DC power supply. AFC and EVC boards will not come on. Does the DC power supply enable this?
@KoolinwithKrauss
@KoolinwithKrauss 2 жыл бұрын
Oh no! There’s a board in the blower compartment that sends the voltage to the corresponding boards. Double check the transformer as well verify proper voltage to 240 and 24.

meaning of flashing led codes top red led flashes 11times bottom red led flashes 7 times thanks
@KoolinwithKrauss
@KoolinwithKrauss 2 жыл бұрын
So with the 11 flash that’s going to the tell you to look at you EVC board and with the 7 flash off the “bottom” board you evc board its going to be significant to high superheat or restriction. What your need to do is check to be sure your stepper is responding to the board and that the GT and ET sensors resistance are within range for proper ambient temps. (In manual) and then verify that the stepper is rotating valve properly. Generally speaking from experience it tends to be a bad sensor that is sending wrong to board which tells the valve to close. Hope this steers you in the right direction! 🤙🏻
