Great test video as always! Really surprised about the smokes. I was certain the i3 would activate first, but I guess always expect the unexpected. Maybe I’ll buy a few of those “2400” detectors and try them out

I have a white model of the EST genesis ceiling mount shipping and I should get it in today. I am running a wire from my bedroom fire alarm system to the garage. I am also putting in a EST siga pull station. My question is the horn on the EST genesis able to be disabled without cutting wires?

The only was to disable the horn would be to cut the wires on the inside.

Model number on that multi-candela Gamewell RSS is "72035" ;) (hey, at least it's not a Honeywell-branded one, cuz those model numbers can be quite long :P). Also, gosh, hearing all these alarms going off at once sounds pretty dang loud lol Great video!

Hey there, thank you so much for your comment! It is really an honor for me being an inspiration to you, and I’m happy you are interested in the same hobbies as me! To answer your question, there are some minor differences. For conventional systems each zone requires separate wires. For example, if you had a 2 zone system, each zone would have its own wiring. An addressable system only has one “zone.” It is called the SLC. It is a wire that connects to each and every initiating device. (pull station, smoke detector, etc.) The addressable panel talks to each device individually and determines if a device is in alarm while a conventional panel just waits for a zone to trip. NAC’s are the exact same from conventional to addressable panels. (Unless it’s a newer Simplex system that has addressable NAC’s, which act just like the SLC’s) I hope I was able to answer your questions and please do not hesitate to ask other questions! Thanks! I haven’t tried that before, I’ll have to experiment with it. But if it did work, the RSS and EHDL1 would act up since it is the incorrect sync protocol.

@@ExitSign250 Your welcome! True, I've heard that EST Genises's work on the System Sensor sync so I was throwing an idea out there. Maybe for your next test you could use all EST Genises's and test it out. Love your videos!

The Alarming Alarmist I appreciate it! I remember back in the day when I had a house system, I used System Sensor sync when I had both System Sensor and EST devices. If I recall correctly, all of the strobes synced together, but only the respective brand’s horn synced. So the System Sensor horn’s synced with each other, and the EST horns synced together.

Do you have a module that makes the conventional smokes turn into addressable for 9200udls?

There is a module to do that, and I own one and it is wired into my demo. It’s the module on the right side. The model is MMF-302. It’s for 2 wire smoke detectors. If you have a four wire detector, you can use a standard module for the contacts and supply the power to it via the resetable power.
