Why we have to find the given compound is aromatic or aliphatic?

It is one of the first tests so that if u get aromatic compound u can rule out the chances of aliphatic compounds and vice versa

The reason is since organic reactions are very slow we prepare inorganic compounds (using Sodium) so that the element detection is done immediately... Nitrogen in the organic compd combines with sodium to form NaCN, sulphur as Na2S and halogen as NaX
