Julia herself claims (in an interview with Xenia Sobchak) that this was the peak of t.A.T.u. popularity. However, I wanted to share something with you. I have a niece (whose name is Masha) and she recently graduated from high school. Couple of weeks ago, I was playing ATTSS song on my phone in her company and she instantly recognized the melody (I guess she must have heard it on TikTok, because she has never heard of t.A.T.u. before), so I decided to tell her something about the song and the band in general. You can't imagine her surprise: "Oh my God, this is Russian song!?" I showed to her t.A.T.u. performance on NTV ("Life Like a Song") in November 2013 and her comment was priceless: "This is stunningly beautiful!" In any case, she started to listen to their songs (she likes modern pop/rock and The Weeknd is her favorite performer) and yesterday I received a message from her: "Why haven't you told me about this band before?" My response was simple: "Welcome to the wonderful world of t.A.T.u." What can I say, it seems that I have already done my homework, I passed this amazing band and their legacy on to the next generation. Until our next conversation, my friend...

Unless you were there, i cannot tell you how popular this group was. I am from New Zealand, and they were the first time we saw what Russian girls were really like post Soviet Union. They were even more liberated than westerners, and they were trend-setters!
