Off Line no it wasn’t. We are asking when was America great for blacks. However we aren’t asking anyone to list the accomplishments that were made. Two things can be true. Folks were accomplishing things yes but that dosent make it great. For every black wall streeter there are about 2 or three from That same time period whom didn’t come home at night , they were picked up dipped in tar and set on fire. Families weren’t even knowing where the body or what happened to their sons, daughters etc. so I ask again when was it great for blacks

Blacks owned their own land, businesses, had their own institutions back then, but most important of all we had actual families back then instead of baby mommas and baby daddies. Hell, my great grandfather was a doctor in the early 1900s when we supposedly had it so bad. They had all of this because they knew they had to depend on themselves back then. In the 1960s the government became the babysitter and it's gone straight to hell since then. T.I. sounds very hypocritical asking that question because America has been very great for him to go from being a convicted felon to a multimillion dollar superstar. He on that bullshit.

@@dubdeuce1517 What does this have to do with the rest of the blacks who were still enslaved? We already know and understand that a few blacks became millionaires while still slaves. Further more the Emancipation Proclamation did not get signed and passed until 1865, however slavery continued on hundred + years after that. I don't want to hear during Black Wall Street because the United States government & the president destroyed Black Wall Street. Like Malcolm X said if the laws aren't so beneficial to us how come they're not working for all of us. Civil Rights, was just the first leg; we need human rights. Also, we need slavery taken out of the Constitution of the United States of America especially the 13th Amendment. And we want our recreations if you're being Americans were not on this continent get to be considered a first-class citizen; well African Americans who ancestors were raped beaten brought here definitely get to be considered first class citizens and get paid for 400 years of free labor plus interest. I’m sick of the whole narrative that “Jay-Z needs to get Colin a job.” First of, Colin is a grown ass man and he needs to find himself a job. Second, Colin opted out of his contract with the 49ers after the 2016 season. Colin was 1-10 in his last 11 starts as a quarterback. In 2016, Colin was benched for Blaine Gabbert due to poor play. Multiple teams during the 2017 offseason were contacting Colin for a backup quarterback job and Colin refused to take a small salary. Colin accepted the settlement with the NFL. The moment that Colin accepted the NFL settlement, his whole “social justice movement” went out the window. Now imagine a normal person suing their employer and then coming back to the company and asking to get rehired. Do you really think your former employer would rehire you after you sued them and gave them negative press for 3 years?

We find ways to chip away at his character as a person. No one is perfect! We all have flaws. We all can learn something from one another. That’s why God blessed us all with two ears and one mouth. America was great when we held that faith in both our hearts and minds. The possibilities of what she still looks like. None of us can just come to conclusions - can we. I listened to the whole conversation and witnessed much of what I expected. Some of the doo doo I din't understand - Yet it was all good. People simply need strong community and our faith in each other will evolve in the ways we all would like to see them change.

On the GUCCI situation. We from the South T.I. we stick together. Everybody else gotta catch on. That’s why the hip hop culture been in the south so long and will remain. Cause it keeps getting passed around like our dollar suppose to be doing in our community. But everybody gotta catch on to that too. We southerners may talk slow but we think fast!!! CATCH UP!!!!

I saw the debate. I was disappointed with the amount of cussing among the panelists. It was a distraction for me. Cussing shows a limited vocabulary. TI mentioned that he had to address Candance Owens because young kids were watching the forum??? Killer Mike mentioned the homework that needed to be done. His recommendations were excellent in regards to who and what to go read about. There should be a language timeout. We can use other words. This is not just specifically black culture... far often in American culture we cuss for recreation. Too much.

Someone please tell our brothers that the descendants of the slaves both Blacks and Hispanics, are not the ones being referred to as "the people" in the American Constitution. After the emancipation proclamation we became denizens and NOT full citizens in this country or the rest of the Americas. The Constitution is meant to protect "the people" not the victims of the abduction.

Black Americans as there own unit are by far the richest black nation in the world. They would be the 7th richest country if they were a country. That is the by product of living in the wealthiest country in the world. How’s that for great. The size of America’s middle class and the ability to move up in social class is very unique to America and TI has directly benefited from it. He’s obviously spreading bad and divisive ideas to his own community for financial and political gain
