Fascinating! And it has 4 memory slots! I purchased a ton of plug ins from them and love them but I' in a fkng apartment and dying to get the hell out of here so I can move into a better situation to use these tools. Great presentation.

A similar situation of boosting and cutting ( at the same time) controls is what occurs is a tube guitar amp with a *post phase inverter Master Volume* . And with the new *active attenuators* like the *Boss Waza Tube Amp Expander Attenuator* it really is that.

Question: what is your opinion on gain staging? I see your meters in the red sometimes - I heard a lot about the magic -18dB rule. Thank you! I think that they are moddeled with way higher gainstructure - If I use the SSL version and try to compress, I dont get almost any kind of reaction - so I have to drive the plugin way hotter. Same with the Uad SSL Version (sometimes driving it with +10dB and adjust the output accordingly)

Great Explanation - well done! But can you just use an EQ to do what you're doing with this Pultec? Or Maybe with a full EQ you're using a lot more processing power of the CPU?

I'm using t-racks v5 & there's no difference between the pultec emulation V Logic's that's worth noticing

er... my question was did you have v3 of TrackS, and how does it compare with v5? Also, I am having issues (I bought the Deluxe ed.). The GUI does NOT resize, and I am getting 'plugin not authorized. ARGGGHHHH!!!!

Ok, had to download the latest version of the Authorizer. Things work as expected, BUT.... I have to get rid of the MAX plugins in the plugin manager that are not part of the DELUXE suite. One thing IKM does that annoys the shit out of me is put all these unauthorized choices in my menu. Did it with Amplitube, and now with TrackS.

What's fascinating to be me is how good or otherwise these emulations are in comparison to their physical originals. I don't personally have any actual outboard or intend to - I think it's over (stress, that's just me). The UAD plugin version of the Shadow Hills Mastering Compressor for example is currently £149 whereas the actual unit is £7,800 meaning in theory it would need to be at least 50 times better to justify the cost. I know it doesn't quite work like that but you get my drift..

no i don't sorry. tbh, never really forgiven Waves company for that "spying on studio owners" sketch they did back in the day. They seem to have some serious discounts going on tho, plugins reduced from 299/249 to 29 bucks!! is there a problem at the company? i mean that's some discount!!

Maybe i'm being too harsh on waves & i should live & let live, but at the time i though their tactics were outrageous tbh... That Neutron 2 is a clever idea, but i'd have to look into it, i only have a certain amount of time to do this. Highly respected company Isotope.. :)
