A friend of mine is 2,08 meters, that's exactly 6 feet and 10 inches. He's in now his fifties, still strong like an ox and has the stamina to hike endlessly over many hours. He's much more athletic, without doing any sports, than most smaller people are, who do sports. So, knowing Joerg, I wouldn't be surprised if Tyrannosaurs had some Joergs of their own. 🙂

A new study hypothesizes that T.Rex could have been 70% bigger than fossils suggest. What are your thoughts on this?

If T-Rex could be larger then the specimen paleontologists have found so far, it would also mean that it's bite force could be far more powerful than previously thought.

Agree with you on this. Mike

the study applies with other dinosaurus as well. heck the study is actually least effective for Trex that is by far the one of the most well supplied and researched dinosaur

The Peter(?) skeleton visited my local museum, and this is the only real reference I have for a T. Rex. It was smaller than I hoped and I would believe that they could be notably larger. T. Rex was around for a long time and the population would have been in the high millions (my estimate) so there would have been notable variations in the population. I hope we find more fossils soon.

Imagine the Angus MacAskill of the t rexes. A fully proportionate 7ft 9 man without gigantism. Probably roars in a Scottish accent too.

I'm in the special effects movie business I worked on the first two Jurassic Park movies and I've also have worked with Tom Cruise and he isn't short! I'm 6'2 and Tom isn't way shorter than me! I'd say he's about average man height about 5'8 to 5'9! And I'm pretty sure there's larger T-Rexes that we haven't discovered yet.. I'm 56 and when I was a kid I use to go to Montana with my uncle who at the time was a Paleontologists and I've been studying T-Rex ever since I was a little kid! And there's a lot of bullshit that T-Rex bones couldn't handle his weight that he would fall and break his bones! That's B.S! Many scientists agree! Nature made a huge animal like the T-Rex to be able to handle their mass! Look at modern day bull elephants they can charge and run quickly up to 15 to 20 MPH! Elephants have fallen many times charging and they get right back up quickly! I believe the T-Rex could do the same as any other large dinosaur cuz that's how they were built! Plus the T-Rex really didn't need to run high speed to catch it's prey or you! It had such a wide stride a few steps it'll be on you!

That’s amazing what did you do on the first two films. I should interview you sometime for a future issue of Prehistoric Magazine. Thanks for writing. Mike

Bigger than what?

that study would also apply to all dinosaurs as well. Heck it works with T.rex with the least effect. imagine 80% larger Giga
