Hi, Thanks for your video. This type of video is much better than trends, by exposing low competition trends you just ruin them because there are a lot of "designers" who do keyword stuffing and just kill those trends.
@DetourShirts3 жыл бұрын
That may be... but I believe you need both good design and something people are looking for to be successful.....that why I continue to do the trends.

Hi everyone. 😉😉 We will probably never meet, yet I greet you with respect and best intentions. Never give up in life and learn to accept that there will be challenging times too. Nevertheless, whatever life has in stock for you, good or bad, keep on believing in yourself and keep on going. Q. When you started in 2005 how many years did it take before you felt like you could make t-shirts that sell well? Can you make a video on what it was like in the early years please and explain how things have changed if you were starting now in 2021.
@DetourShirts3 жыл бұрын
The biggest difference it this... in 2005 I created designs I thought were going to sell. I didn't do any research. I just guessed. Ideas that popped into my head. Sometimes it worked but I wasn't that good of a guesser. Nobody really is. Today I design with a lot of data to back up what I am designing. Research before design is key. Design what people are looking for... and yes over time your designs will get better too.

Hi, really appreciate all your help and I learn something new from each of your videos. Your playlist on how to design various T-shirts appear to be only for Affinity. I only use Photoshop and have some basic knowledge of PS. Do you also have videos on designing in Photoshop? Many thanks and best regards

You can do it! I kind of went fast.... it's the erase filter on the rectangle... remember the rectangle and the outline text need to be grouped together

Hi Juna, I appreciate your video's. Everything very useful. I want to know can't do it by illustrator or photoshop.

😃Thank you very much Juna! 👍🏾 The biggest struggle is exporting to an SVG file correctly. It took me literally hours today of watching videos on so many channels over and over until.. I found a somewhat short video 6:51 that helped to at least have Design Space accept the file. However the squares that cover the letters, do show up in DS and I still need to move some overlapping Letters... for example, if I put the "Dad" on the bottom right or if I wanted to change the individual colors of the outlined duplicates... I basically need an editable file - I NEED YOUR HELP lol 😂 🙏🏾
@DetourShirts3 жыл бұрын
If you are using Affinity Designer you just need to export the artboard and make sure to choose "Selection Only" under Area
@charlenesmith56262 жыл бұрын
@@DetourShirts I am unable to get SVG export to work. If I use 'selection only' it removes the rectangles. Should I use subtract instead of erase?

@@DetourShirts two more questions please 🙄 What is the best distance from the top of the artboard to the top of the design so it is positioned correctly on the shirt? I'm using AI to design and although I have my artboard size correct (4500x5400) the png files is always too large when I export. 🤔 I then have to bring it into PS to reduce the image size. Is it the same for AD? Am I missing a step in AI. Thank you so much for your time!

Hey Juna, Any advantage to using the erase function over the subtract function for the outline portion?

Yes.... when you subtract you will will have to change the font to an object and the font will be gone... when you use the erase everything is still there and you can edit it for the next design.
