For a serious test the settings of the machines should ALWAYS be shown, especially the discrimination and never remove the image from the controls. The test must be done with the exact same coils. The one used with the Simplex could be much better. A metal detector should be judged on the whole, compare the simplex with a mineralized stone and various objects and see how the ID changes other good machines maintain ID as mineralization changes The simplex is a good entry level, stop.
