Showing how to do the light switch wiring was great. I used this video today to get mine hooked up. One thing on the firewall passing there is (at least on my 2023 4Runner TRD Prem) a hole that has a nipple on the engine side. If you cut the nipple you can just pass the wire right through.

Thank you! The switches are different sizes between the 4th and 5th gen. I believe the 4th gen has a longer switch that identical in every other way, so just make sure you get the correct size. Cheers!

I believe if you hooked up that other white wire you would have the word "light bar" lit up when your headlights are on then the light bar symbol will light up when you engage the switch. So you would still be able to know if your light bar was on or off with that other wire hooked up. You would just be able to see the button in the dark.

Just in case anybody out there runs into this issue... the LASFIT 10ft Wiring Harness I ordered a month ago from amazon has different color wires. The 3 wires from the relay are Red, Black and Yellow. I ordered the same switch as in the video. Here's how to connect to the updated colors: Black to black Yellow from the relay connects to the Green on the switch the Red from the relay connects to BOTH the red and the white on the switch Everything works flawlessly.

Thanks for the helpful video! I have a different light bar, but after everything is installed, my switch stays illuminated, even when the vehicle is off. The switch works just fine and turns the light bar on and off like it should. Any ideas what my problem might be?

for $15 people should get a relay hanger. You can use the two sockets for your bolts and it will hold 4 relays. You think you will only have one light bar or set of lights.. but trust me, it won't be the end of it. You'll want ditch lights or a backup light or rock lights. having the relay hanger is handy.

Been binge watching your videos while I plan mods for my runner haha. Just ordered the body armor hi line and rough country light bar with your recommendation 🙌🏻 Also plan on getting the diode ss3 with Amber drl setting as fog lights, also with your recommendation haha. The rough country light bar I ordered has an amber drl setting, but I’d still love to use the oem style switch like you did in this video. would you have any advice on how I would wire that up so that the amber DRL runs like your diode ss3 did when they weren’t “on” ? Any help would be appreciated 🙏🏻

In a sense, I need to find a way to convert the 3 way switch that comes with the Rough Country (on, off, drl) to the oem style switch button. I’d like for the drl setting to turn on as default kind of like my raptor lights.

@@VietHuynh You can purchased a Cali Raised OEM “dual function switch” that has “white/amber”. It’s just like the switch I used but it has two switches in one. Or you could use a “T-tap” connector to tap into the Raptor lights to trigger your amber light bar drl to come on with your raptor lights. I personally would go with the OEM dual switch though.

@@T4Rgarage yes . I was looking for a power source other than constant battery . I know some people hook up to the ACC fuse under the hood . I would think however that there has to be a ignition on off with key that I can hook the positive up to .

Yes, unless you control power to the lights with a high current rated switch. Aircraft (mil spec) toggle switches are available rated to 20amps but they’re not anything like the inexpensive switches commonly sold at auto parts stores. The OEM style switches are usually rated at only 3amps since they only power the relay coil and tiny internal LED light.

Yes, but just confirm the size of switch. There is a tall and short version. The 4Runner has the short, Tacoma may be the same but I am not sure
