Crazy thing about the current meta is that you have two top infantry civs on a land map that makes full walling difficult and both sides STILL just go for archers. Melee pathing really needs to be fixed.

Okay, so at 20:00 I understand why Max didn't push into the base because Yo doesn't suck and wouldn't panic. For us that are not so fortunate, If someone would to push into our base right there how could we stop it? (don't say 'depends' i swear dont say it)

I would’ve added mangonels because it’s super hard to push mangonels with just archers and siege, I also would’ve played my castle defensively instead of going insane mode like yo did, I’m only 1200 but that’s what I would’ve done

I know its weird, but I tried this strategy once where you use more number of villagers and build your castle cut to cut right next to his castle, that way the castles dont attack each other since its the early castle age. So any infantry or seige he makes cant take his castles cover and you can snipe the mangonels easily (if he makes them). eventually I lost the game, but he had to go to imp and treb my castle down, which gives you a lot of time to recover.

Normally I prefer berserks to champions for the Vikings but against the Japanese there's always a risk of them pulling samurai out and cooking your army.
