13:40 Yeah, it's kind of amazing to realize that unironically, one of the top three RTS games in play today came out 23 years ago. Or possibly depressing, since it also means virtually nobody is making new good RTSs anymore. :\ Outside of Starcraft 2 and AoE2, I think the only other RTS I've played in the prior 4 years is...Forts?

Have you considered any nothing maps with the civ builder? It would be interesting to see players optimize for woodcutting instead of military as they do on most other channels the civ builder has been featured on.

Purples hero got splash damage. As blue said, if a sab destroys multiple boxes, they all drop the same. So I assume the fact his hero damages multiple boxes at the same time "locks" them on the same loot

Purple not playing to win sours the game's ending if it was indeed purple's intention to play kingmaker rather than being the last one standing. Up to the moment where purple says he wants red to win was pretty decent though. Thanks for the upload.

gg red. great diplo on your side. picking side with purp and playing the enemy alliance was a good move. taking part in killing purp would have left you on top score and therfore on the edge of becoming the next target by them. thus, wisely chosen side.

Idea: TECH Nothing. Everyone starts with only some basic technology levels. Destroying a pavilion usually yields some resources, but it has a chance to unlock a tech for you.

I think it would be a neat idea to try out a build of this game mode where instead of the 'lootboxes' dropping resource gathering spots, they instead just give you a small amount of the resource itself directly. That way the lootboxes subsume the role of resource acquisition in this custom game mode. It would alleviate some of the issues with space early on and keep units that break open boxes from becoming trapped within the myriad of drops. It would also give the players the same amount to manage; instead of adding a whole new micromanagement of lootbox gathering on top of resource gathering (along with everything else), your lootboxes become your resources. I'm not sure how you would implement this through a custom map/game but just an idea to make things more streamlined.

I haven't played AOE2 since the years after it came out, on the good ol family Gateway. just played the campaign and AI and a handful of online games on whatever janky online was around then. I dont have a gaming computer, no way to play, but I watch these videos. they're fun! It is funny to remember my vague memories of strats... lots of BBT, going for forward gold. dont think i ever fished. lots of walls. random armies. lots of Tc idle time. good times!

I do wonder if the movable TC is meant to be static like a treb or like an Age Of Mythology one, it pretty much has the exact same design. You could see it as a resource deposit who can't create pop.

About the 2nd TC, it could probably be quite useful if you wanted to be aggressive early since they have access to each other right away. You could plant it next to another players TC and put some villagers in it to support an attack. Might not be the best strategy but it's something you could do with it...
