Lefthandedness is a GREAT analogy for homosexuality: 1) seen as evil 2) looks easy to change 3) Linked to right hemisphere which regulates creativity 4) you can use the right hand - but not well - until you use the pencil in the left hand. Then it's completely natural. Turns out that lefthandedness is FOUR times more common in gay men than in straight men.

This is my favourite episode so far. I adored this. Thank you so much for covering this topic so well. Would love you to cover more such topics on either Old Hollywood or LGBT cultural history. I really enjoyed the Tab Hunter documentary and book and so lapped up this episode! Also, on a similar vein have you seen the documentary film Beefcake from 1998? It covers the same era and topics of the the rise of the male 'physique pictorial' muscle magazines and all the queer goings on behind the scenes of the models and photographers. Also would love your views on things like Andy Warhol's Flesh / Trash / Heat trilogy starring the iconic Joe Dallesandro. Basically, I'd just love more of this kind of stuff as you both bring a really thoughtful and fresh take that I honestly don't see ANYONE else doing like this at the moment! Thank you.

...well, I will say this..."C&T" really stepped up their game, in terms of content! ...It's very informative, casual, intelligent, engaging....I said it before...Alistair has jumped LEAPS n' BOUNDS, with his screen presence & confidence!! ...his voice & demeanor suits this podcast, with it's 'Gay Sunday Morning' vibe.... (cont.) ...BUT! ...I really do wish (MY opinion, here) that Zach still creates "AZB" (the main channel); It's got such an abstract, dark, arty flow, and feels very confessional to their personal lives... It's got a different 'feel', & should not be stopped....It's absolutely amazing to see such educated, topical Gay Men (in their TWENTIES!) talk about Old Hollywood Icons like this.... ....with Buffy & Britney in the background!! ...It's throwin' this SIXTY year Old off!! ..ha-HAAA!

Oh and it may already be on your list, but another topic I'd love to see you cover is that of Sal Mineo. He had a fascinating story, with his relationship to James Dean and Natalie Wood (and Rebel Without A Cause bisexual director Nicholas Ray), his incredibly progressive theater work, his amazing performance in the cult classic thriller (and undeniably sexy) movie Who Killed Teddy Bear, and his tragic demise. His name tends not to feature much these days, so would be wonderful if you could help shine a light on his story for a new generation.

LOVE this show...!!! You both are very different in this format than AZB. With Tab and Tony, you have to remember the times of being secretive about your orientation. Not only could you lose your reputation and career, but you could also go to JAIL...remember Stonewall...watch A Man in an Orange Shirt from PBS and BBC. As mentioned in a comment below, my fave Tab Hunter movie is Lust in the Dust with Divine and Lainie Kazan...fun...watch it if you haven't. Great characters in that movie...Red Dick and (Miss) Big Ed. Tab's long-time companion and husband Allan Glaser produced it. In Netflix's movie Hollywood, there's a character named Ernie, the gas station manager, who is based on Scotty Bowers. Bowers has a book on those times and it's very candid about a lot of Hollywood stars' lives...much more so than the movie Hollywood. Another interesting couple of friends of the time was Cary Grant and Randolph Scott. Hot. Thank you for your vlogs...enjoy them...!!! Love you guys, Zaza.

In those days the studios would "set up" these guys with current famous female entertainers in order to kind of diminish the rumors of them being gay. I read a book by a famous female singer who said that Tony Perkins and she were to meet and show that they were together and they took the photo of the two and she said they told each other goodbye and they never met or got together again. She did say he was a very nice boy but it was all set up. The studios couldn't promote any man as a "leading man" if everyone thought they were gay. There was even a picture of the two of them in the book she wrote. This was in the early late 50s or early 60s

A great book about secret gay relationship and the powerful Catholic upper classes in Britain was Brideshead Revisited. A study of upper classes and gay relationship. Polari was a secret gay language which lasted well into the seventies, of which many words have now been absorbed into normal everyday conversation ie. Naff. You two go from strength to strength with your topics and insights. A nice intelligent change from usual banal gay stuff on KZbin.

Great topics discussed today. It's funny because they talked about the witch hunts against gays in the 50s but I remember being closeted in the Navy outside of Chicago at 20yo in the early 90s. The military would send in undercover agents into gay bars trying to find military folks. Even straight people weren't allowed in gay bars or clubs at that time. If caught, they'd put us in prison cells amd treated like criminals for several months while being processed with a dishonorable discharge. It makes me so happy to see Allister have the freedom to be open while serving his country.

As usual I enjoyed your program today, in the seventies it was common for groups of gay friends to adopt female personas for some of their friends so they could feel safe in talking about their friends in mixed company, tab hunter was beautiful, Anthony not so much. My husband and I just watched a documentary about this guy named scotty, who used to set up dates for gay men working out of a full service gas station in Hollywood, sorry my memory fails me, as to the correct name of it, but it was quite risqué. Keep up the good works guys, cudos to both of you.

Scotty’s documentary was interesting, if not always entirely believable. Don’t know him personally, but he seemed prone to exaggeration. Or maybe not. Probably no one knows but Scotty. I do believe the part about Hepburn and Tracy keeping up a fake romance to camouflage their sexualities. 😸✌️

You already know that I have read the Tab Hunter book, but it’s interesting to get some more information on Anthony Perkins, who I was aware about but didn’t know as much detail about. By the way, you may not know this, but there was a very popular radio show for many years called “Ma Perkins,” and I’m sure that’s what the snarky landlord was referring to. I think Andrew Garfield is a great choice for Tony Perkins, and I would think maybe Billy Magnussen could work as Tab Hunter. Both are a little past the age of the Hunter and Perkins when they were in their 20s, but they are close enough to the same age that it might work.

I am never sure around the time I’ve watch this which one of you two fellows is hottest. I’m going to have to go with my mood that day. I’m sorry you’re going to be winding down because I have enjoyed you both very much. You’re a show is unlike anything else on KZbin. I especially enjoyed Christmas in Mexico recently. I don’t know why Alastair is from Mexico perhaps he’s a Mormon I must’ve missed that part really doesn’t matter it was just quite lovely and is there any other man out there like Zack. I know you’re very kind because of the way you not only treat Alastair and everyone else but especially your animals. I hope you’ve made some good money doing that you continue in the world of film and producing because you’re too gay guys we can all be proud of. I know this is right now in a long time and you probably won’t see it but again thank you both
