Bela Bose used to be a persona non grata to me all through my thirty years of watching Hindi movies. But for the first time, I found her to be a worthy model for the beginners in this field! A versatile actor and dancer, Bela Bose essayed all types of roles, big or small, they were significant and she did them with her signature elan and ease. Belaji did several solo dances, many groups and cabarets as well as Mujras. In Joy-Sharmila starrer Dil Aur Mohbbat, she did a superb cabaret 'Uff yeh beqarar dil, kahan luta na puchhiye' and a magnificent mujra 'Bade khubsoorat bade hi hasin, mita jis pe dil tum wohi to nahin'. He role was impressive. She also did some espionage movies with Firoz Khan while in Maya, her facial expressions on the song 'Koi sone ke dil wala, koi chandi ke dil wala, lip-synced by legendary Dev Anandji were marvielous. Live Long Belaji-happy, healthy and peaceful! Thanks a lot to Tabassum Sahiba, I am a fan of both of you!

Very very happy to see Bela ji is fine. My mother told her name in my childhood. Later on one of my mother's friend was looking like Bela Bose. So we always used to call that auntie Bela Bose auntie.....Thereafter Bela ji vamp role in Jai Santoshi Maa stamped on my mind. I just happened to watch Tabassumji's Phool khile hein gulshan gulshan. I was just a little kid back then and didn't realize who Tabassum is and why she was a household name. But lately when incidentally got to watch one of her works, I couldn't stop myself and have great admiration for her.
