This is my first listen to anything created by N.E.R.D, the experimental band that has inspired many for years. If you’re new to them like I am, No One Really Ever Dies starts off hyper and intimidating with driving punk drums at rapid tempos. However, this is cut down by smooth, funky basslines and vocal performances by Pharrell and a multitude of incredible features. All of the abstract ideas start making sense, making you anticipate the hard left turns this album takes at times.
With this comeback record, N.E.R.D proves why they’ve been influencers since day one.

wasnt a fan of the second half of voila, most of lightning fire magic prayer (mainly bc it just felt like it dragged on too long, the "every time i turn around" parts of rollinem, and a bit more. but don't do it and lemon are two of my favorite tracks of the whole year so the album definitely was an overall win for me

I still say none of their albums comes close to touching "In Search of... " That is a timeless record, and easily the favorite by them. I appreciate your taste in music, it mostly aligns with mine. I would highly recommend you checking that album out. Keep up the great content!
