We loved Ichiran so much that my family and I ate there 3 times while we were in Tokyo for 4 days! It's not just the food, it's also the experience of eating in a private booth. A deep connection between you and that special bowl of ramen. ♥️😊

Can I just say how much I appreciate that most of your videos have captions? Like for this video, I have a very hard time understanding you guys talking because of the background noise in the restaurant (just to clarify, I know it's not you guys' fault, it's my own auditory processing disorder) These looked really really delicious!!

My husband saw what must have been your video about this place. He says it's perfect for introverts ( people who really are not comfortable in social situations) because you don't have to talk to anyone much at all. He really liked the little booths.

I never heard of this shop while I was living in Tokyo. Anyway, my favorite Ramen shop is located near Shinjuku Station and their noodles were tasty and cheap! It's called Ghifu-Ya (岐阜屋) and it's not stylish, not pretty but I always enjoyed eating there in the Winter. A big bowl of Ramen and Gyoza always made me feel happy. Oh, you can order beer and chu-hi!

Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen is the best kind imo, the first time I ate it was in Osaka, second time in Okayama at a small Ramen shop with a really long queue but it moved quite fast, and I surprised my now wife and her sister by finishing my bowl, ordering a full portion of Kaidama and finishing that too before they were done. It's unbeatable with a healthy extra dose of green onions on top and spice to the max... I miss Japan for so many things, hope travel opens up again soon so I can go back and have proper Ramen again. I will stop by Ichiran in Umeda Hankyu-higashidori next time I go and check it out. I have to go by there anyway every time because of travel logistics.

Looks scrumm-o! I like the novelty of it, a combination of traditional and modern, utilizing wait staff as well as machines. I'm impressed at the vast choices. I mean, you can even choose your own preference of doneness when it comes to the noodles, I've never known a restaurant that offers that. Pretty cool. Not in the near future, but definitely in the next five years, I'd LOVE to visit Japan. This video made me feel better, because from what I've read, Japan doesn't offer doggie bags as often as restaurants do here in the States. I also read that it's considered disrespectful to leave food on one's plate in a restaurant. That means, that if you order, seems the polite thing to do is to eat it all (the "clean plate club" lol). My issue is that I'm unable to ingest a lot of food in one sitting. I can maybe eat a child's plate, but no more than that. Snacking is fine, I get my nutrients, but it has to be spread throughout the day. I just didn't want to be in a situation where I have to stay at the table for a couple of hours, trying to eat everything, because my stomach is very small and they don't offer doggie bags. Seeing that you ordered half a portion (at the end) makes me feel better. (You see that half portion? That's the size of my entire meal. That and one egg will make me STUFFED.) If I'm wrong about the doggie bags and leaving food on the plate, someone please correct me. Thanx. :)
@TabiEats7 жыл бұрын
+Giggles don't worry. Doggie bags are not common although if you leave s lots of food behind, they'll sometimes ask if you'd like it wrapped up for you. Also you don't have to finish everything on your plate. I can almost never finish my bowl of ramen.

Wow, I would love to visit Japan some day, everything is so different there compared to Germany - and all the food looks soooooo delicious! I was wondering - at 7:41 what are those small metal dishes used for?
@ZynnieZHU7 жыл бұрын
I think if you order through the vending machine and they take your tickets, then they give you these plates, which you just put on and call them. On the plates itself it writes the item (extra half noodles, extra noodles or even the desert?, etc), so they just bring the item to you after seeing the metal plates.
@Kaeltis7 жыл бұрын
Bonchuu thanks!
@kechan25057 жыл бұрын
When you give them all the tickets from the machine at the front, they will pass you that small metal thing and your normal orders. They don't serve you everything at once, beside the call button there's a indicator for you to put the small metal thing when you're ready for your kaedama/desert.
