👍👍👍😍😍😍😍😍😍 I saw the most beautiful New Year's celebrations with Osechi near - Hana and Kotaro - a small Asian clawed otters, living in Japan. They are the smartes, weirdest and funniest creatures in the world. I've never seen that in my life. Beautiful Jaoan I adore him...❤

First and foremost, you boys mentioned putting out “better” videos in 2019, but I say “how can you improve on greatness?” The time, the care, the content, editing, everything that you do-all of your hard work is beyond amazing. Hontoni Domo Arigatou Gozaimashita for everything! I cannot wait to see what you have in store for us! OH! MY! GOODNESS! I AM BEYOND IMPRESSED BOYS!!! My dream is to actually make every dish inside of a 3-tiered Osechi Jubako one day. We paid $200.00 for pretty much everything that you served.....so takai!! Brother Satoshi, you are AMAZING!! I so wish I could’ve cooked along side you, and learned. I cannot make tamagoyaki like yours, and the kuromame....forget it. I just purchase the cans. Brother Shinichi, my okasama always told me the same thing, “eat your age in kuromame for good luck.” I always have-to this day. Unfortunately, the kuromame now take up most of my plate now. ☺️ Every single item was made with love! The Kuri Kinton and the kombu-maki, my gosh!! You both know that I made your Datemaki recipe last year. It is an amazing recipe, but I still need to perfect it on my end. Brother Satoshi’s Datemaki looked so juicy! Mine-not so much, so I broke down and paid $24.00 for 2 small rolls. Datemaki is my favorite too, brother Shinichi. Josh and I are thrilled that most everyone that comes over every year, will pass over the Datemaki, leaving more for us. 😉 Thank you for taking the time to explain each tier. I never knew! The placement that brother Shinichi did was beautiful! While watching your Toshikoshi Soba livestream, I also learned that the soba should be eaten before midnight. We always ate it at the stroke of midnight-not last night. Brother Satoshi.....Roast beef in a rice cooker? Whaaaat? Please share your recipe with us! Question please, there was a tri-colored item next to the tazukuri. It’s almost mousse-like. What was that please? My gosh! I’m starving now! I cannot wait until 3:00 today! That’s when our feast begins. I could go on and on about how impressed I am with everything, but I’d better stop. I’m off to get the Ozoni ready for my family for breakfast. Akemashite Omedeto Gozaimasu!

SATOSHI!!!! You are the man, best friends, I am so happy for you two! Please prayers for my sister!!! Her memorial was yesterday. I’m glad she has no more pain, it is sad, but I am reminded how much she loved cooking, and have people eat her food,(Mexican food!) But I know she can visit Japan now, her spirit is here. I tried my first Osechi this year, made by Reiko, a long time friend of my parents, and consequently me. She also brought over mochi cakes to heat in the oven and eat with sweetened soy sauce, which I tried later. My sister and I, being big fans of Japanese cuisine, enthusiastically devoured the "vinegar marinated daikon and carrot" and the tamago yaki with rice in the osechi, and our parents liked it too.

I'm really, really impressed. That gardine coloring is a great tip especially for vegans who want a natural yellow colour. I've been married 28 years & I've never made Osechi. I make my family's Christmas tradtions but too afraid to attempt Osechi. I helped my host mother once (MIL lives too far away) & it was very complicated especially when certain ingredients are included for their puns or color for prosperity, happiness, fertility, longevity etc. Luckily now I can look up online & get hubby to order.
