I'm starting to wonder if 7-11 rivals an average supermarket in Japan. I'm constantly amazed at the quality of the product you can get from 7-11 in Japan :O

Well, in Japan 7-Eleven has serious competition: Lawson Station, FamilyMart, MiniStop and Daily Yamazaki primarily. As such, 7-Eleven Japan can't be slouches when it comes to food quality.

When you first said the price, I thought it would not be worth it. But it is so beautifully packaged and so many quality ingredients that it seems like it actually would be worth the cost.

I thought similarly. In America, 7-11 is not a place you'd get anything "nice" like this. They don't serve any quality foods. Just gas station fare. The idea that you get something this nice is just proof they are different in Japan. When you think of it tho, American families pay a lot for a Ham and for the feast that goes with it. It just seems like such a huge expense! But it's an experience, and worth it in many ways as a treat.

I really liked what you did in 2017 was 1. Train Bentos because you mentioned each bento from different areas were so different in design, food etc. And I would love to see more in 2018. 2. 7-11 Tests because Japan's 7-11 is quite frankly different from my place in Amerca. I never expected 7-11 to have luxury/high foods like this Osechi. 3. "Your first time eats " videos were also interesting. Giving an open perspective on what you like and dislike and experience other cultures. there a lot of surprises on different types of foods.

My favorite moments from your videos: 1. The live stream when you got generous donations for your shaved ice machine. Satoshi was so touched and it made me appreciate the shaved ice videos even more. 2. The LA donut video. You two had so much fun making the video and it was super enjoyable to watch! 3. The live stream Shinichi did with Justin because Justin has such a big personality for a little dog. I feel like Satoshi has really come out of his shell in front of the camera this past year and he gives every video a bit of silliness and fun! Keep up the good work in 2018 and enjoy your vacation!

I love it when you guys show food from different areas of japan, so I'd have to say my first most-liked video of yours from 2017 is 1) The train ekiben video, I just love watching you guys share your experiences with food in general 2) The videos where you guys try foreign food - I especially love the faces Satoshi makes when he eats licorice or drinks root beer, they're hilarious. 3) The street food video that I think had Shinichi's mom in it - you guys just seemed so happy, and spending a day with family is really touching. :)

Wow! I really, really wish 7-11 was half as good as this in the US. I want to eat ALL OF THAT! Especially the duck and the tamagoyaki. So worth the money! Some of my favorite moments are watching Satoshi drink root beer and eat licorice! You two and Shinichi's sister eating 18+ ramen and of course, you guys making inarizushi as per my request! Still very humbled and thankful for you guys making that video! Thanks for all you do and enjoy your break! Happy New Year!

Three of my favorite moments were watching you eat spicy foods with your sister, seeing the beautiful waterfall you visited on a cloudy/rainy day, & watching Satoshi get excited about beer (especially when it paired well with a food from an international haul). Your videos are so relaxing to watch and I look forward to every new video you post! Enjoy your week long vacation.

First off, thank you guys for a GREAT year! Second, enjoy your rest! You guys deserve it, and should remember to do it every so often. It's important for your mental health! As for my three favorite moments of 2017: 1. Watching Satoshi trying A&W Root Beer in Okinawa (Sorry, Satoshi, your reactions were just delightful!) 2. Your visit to Jindaiji with your mother. Honestly, I love the videos with your mother! She's adorable. 3. And last of all, the savory breads test, specifically the spaghetti bread. It's such an odd concept, to me, as an American, and yet it fascinates me! Once again, thank you guys!

1. Being the first person to shake your hand at your KZbin space meetup! It was an amazing experience and it's wonderful to see how much you guys have grown as a channel in just one year. 2. Okinawan street food video! You guys made me want to travel there. I didn't know anything about Okinawa before your video but now I hope to go someday. 3. Takikomi gohan. I made it on Christmas eve with my family and they loved it.

You guys made me fall in love with chicken long rice. You even commented on my chicken long rice on my instagram. I rewatch and share the chicken long rice video all the time. I also cook your Okinawan-style pork and egg onigiri a lot. I like making that dish for my gluten free friends. And your Japanese spaghetti and mushrooms is another video I rewatch. That dish is a great late night snack, I can cook it without making too much noise in the kitchen and waking up the household.

Happy New Year Shinichi and Satoshi! I want to thank you for bringing me on a fabulous tour of a place I have longed to visit but unfortunately I am unable to physically go and see. You have brought Japan into my home here in Canada, through your videos. It's so hard to choose which videos or moments that were my favourites but the ones that stand out the most, I would have to say are:1. Your instant ramen taste test videos - because of those videos, it inspired me to go and try to find a few for myself to sample. And through much searching, I was able to find two or three through Ebay. They were all so delicious and it makes me wish that they were more readily available in North America. 2. Your vending machine videos - I have such a fascination for them. It amazes me what can be bought from them.3. Your street food videos - everything looks so delicious! It makes me hungry just thinking about them, LOL.If I am ever able to visit Japan, between the vending machines and the street food, I would be broke...and enjoy every last bit of money spent, no doubt!

My favorite moments on this channel from 2017 were: 1) The convenience store meals/taste tests. These were my absolute favorite because of how intriguing they were and how different the food and stores are compared to the states and the variety of food options available. It also brought me back to when I was back in China at the 7/11s and how I could spend so long in there looking at all the prepared food and wanting to try and buy everything! 2) I also loved the videos of when you would visit different areas of Japan and give us history of the areas you were exploring and the different food options available at those places. I loved these videos because usually people explore Tokyo or just very popular areas of Japan and rarely do we viewers get to experience elsewhere and really get to see Japan through the lens of a native but also tourist all at the same time. 3) Lastly the food recipe videos were another favorite. I loved these because I love to cook and always want to try different recipes and everything in Japan looks so amazing but sometimes recipes can be non authentic or just different from how typical Japanese people eat it in Japan. By learning from you guys I am able to see how something is traditionally made and since you guys usually also get store bought or restaurant quality food of the same type seeing the comparison between what you guys made and what you bought is really great!

Ok, so hard to choose just three. Before I vote on 3: loved the recipes for making mochi five ways, inari sushi, miso soup and kakiage. Onigiri showdown, Ekiben train trips and Coco Curry too. Too many others! These made something foreign accessible to me. So much of what you guys do helps me understand Japanese culture. I think back on people I’ve known and what I didn’t understand! Thank you for all the great things I’ve learned and for sharing you lives with us! Top three: 1 Oden taste test. What a revelation about Japanese food and culture and about veges I never heard of but now I can buy at my local store. 2 Natto factory and taste tests. Got me to try several kinds of natto and discover something new and amazing. Not sure I’m a natto lover though! 3 10 must try foods of Okinawa. Loved seeing and hearing about another part of Japan. You brought out the uniqueness of that area.

my favorite 3 videos are 1. Natto Factory and Ekiben day trip. loved it because it was a trip outside the city, I learned about natto (can't believe how many choices there are on fermented beans) and we got a double surprise with the ekiben lunch on the train not to mention the waterfall that I now want to see in a future trip. #2. Mcdonalds' only in Japan. Since I am in the US, it is soooo fun to see what Mickey D's sells in other countries and ya'll doing the taste test of just Japanese items is fun for an american to see. #3. Mother's Gyoza Recipe. I love all the videos you have of cooking with your mom because I like the recipes but especially because of the history I learned about your mom not accepting you for about 3 yrs and saying all the bad stuff because you love a man.... to see that she now accepts you both and cooks her home cooked recipes makes my heart go pitter patter. love your genuineness in all your videos.

I loved your Mom recipe for gyoza, she is just too cute and she makes recipes easy. I also loved when you guys reviewed the onogri review videos from the convenient store. It made me actually go and try them after watching. I also love your vending machine videos. I find it fascinating how Japan has such a vast vending machine culture. We don’t have that in NY.

My TOP favourite videos of TAbieats 2017: 1. Premium instant noodle from 7-11. I was researching on KZbin for my trip to osaka then and this video was the first video I watched from tabieats. I was hooked! 2. The ekiben adventures. So amazed there can be such good quality bentos for train travel. I was so impressed. 3. The street tour in kuromon market in Osaka. It’s was fantastic timing that the video came out before my trip to osaka! And Shinichi’s family is so cool! Love you guys and looking forward to more fantastic videos!

1. "Tasting snacks from ..." I always find these videos interesting because snacks are so different from around the world, and I find it very interesting to learn more about what is common in different parts of the world. 2. Videos with your mother because I can totally relate to how picky my mother can be especially with food. And how they don't hold back on their opinion. 3. When you tried root beer and how I learned that Japanese people cannot stand root beer because of how it resembles medicinal patches. 4. Videos when you visited the US, and trying American sushi, totally gave me an insight of how Americanized sushi in the US is and how different Japanese sushi is. I know you said 3, but I couldn't decide between 3 and 4.

Oh so many to choose from.. lets see.... 1) I live the videos where you are cooking with your mom. it is so special to see mother and son enjoying the preparing, cooking, and enjoying of food and watching as she passes her recipes to you. 2) The convenience store hauls. I feel like when I travel to Japan i can enjoy some yummy meals for not too much money because of the different options you have shown us. 3) The Eki Bento video with the train museum and the stone bowl bento. I live all the travel videos, but this one is my absolute favorite because of how excited Satoshi-san is in the video.

Happy New Year Shinichi and Satoshi!!! My wife and I paid pretty close attention to your videos in 2017. My wife, son, and I have all been to Japan, but not together. We went to Osaka together in November. First, thank you for posting your family trip to Osaka videos (BEST TAKOYAKI, KUSHIKATSU, and KUROMON MARKET). This gave us ideas for what to do / eat in Osaka. Second, thank you for all of your Conbini videos. It influenced me in getting an AirBnB apartment in a building that had a 7-Eleven on the ground floor (and another across the street, along with a Family Mart a block away; all in Nippombashi between Dotonbori and Den Den Town). We would always stop at one of them before returning to the apartment. The third type of videos we liked were your EKIBEN ones. We never took advantage of eating on the Shinkansen, but we did buy Ekiben at Shin-Osaka Station after catching the Shinkansen back from Hiroshima. Please keep up the good work. We love all your videos.

My favourite moment or videos from 2017 are the street food videos because I ❤ to eat and learn new japanese food. Another reason is street food comes in small portion, means my tummy got more space to try other delicious street food. Japan have also inspire me to cook more often and understand the details or dedication placed into the making of the food. 😁

Hii!! You guys deserve a break! Rest well! So, my favorite 3 moments are: 1. Seriously....ALL Ekiben videos....I tried to filter through tp choose a specific one but I wasnt able too!! I love the diversity of the ekibens, its always a journey watching you guys open and taste/enjoy and give a bit of background information on them. These are my all time favorites! 2. The video made with your mother! Making chicken shoyu two ways! This is amongst my favorites because of the love and chemistry you guys all share. It radiates through your video. Also, the recipe is awesome :) 3. The day travel from Tokyo to Yamanashi to enjoy peaches! Those peaches looked amazing! Watching you guys try to eat so many peaches to get your moneys worth was hilarious! But I mostly enjoyed watching the scenery from the train (the transition from big city to rural city). And....Im not going to lie, the Ekiben from that video was really awesome as well. Hope you guys enjoy your break!! Happt new year!

Happy new year! It's sooo hard to choose favourites from last year... I really love when you post tasty recipes that I can make at home, and I love it even more when they're from Shinichi's adorable mum so I'm going to choose Mother's Gyoza Recipe. I also love to see your (usually hilarious) reacions to food from other countries and I'm going to select the German Instant Soup Taste Test because I am german. And lastly, I am selecting the Chocolate Butter Mochi Recipe because I have made it sooo many times since you posted it and everybody loves it (me included). Thanks for making 2017 a lot better and keep up the great work! Don't be afraid to take breaks whenever you need them! :)

Hey TabiEats, I've recently discovered your channel a week ago and have been binge watching it ever since. Watching your videos brighten up my day and has made me want to visit Japan one day. Anyway, so my favourite videos from 2017 are 1.The Hanami cherry blossom festival in Yoyogi park. The atmosphere seemed so tranquil with all the cherry blossom trees and the food looked amazing. 2. The Japanese train bento, because it was interesting learning of all the types of food items and the different designs of each bento box. 3.The street food videos of Hong Kong(Mongkok). I've been to Hong Kong before and I've had an amazing experience there. Your videos reminded me of the good times I've had there. Also, once again, the food looked amazing. Happy New Year, and I look forward to be seeing more videos from you.

Dear Satoshi-san and Shinichi-san, My most favorite 3 moments: 1. When Shinichi-san’s cute mother visits and cooks something. She is so wonderful and cheerful 2. 7-11 taste tests. When I visit Japan konbini is one of my favorite place to visit. We don’t have in my country so I’m so excited to see your reviews about it. 3. Daiso kitchen tools test. I really really love this series also. When I went to Japan I made a shopping list from your daiso video series. There are so much more to mention, but you asked just three. I started following you guys because of your tasting of convenience store foods as North America doesn't quite have such tempting selection of food (as you probably already know) and I liked hearing you compare each place. I'm also a fan of your international tasting videos - it was especially fun being able to recognize the different Canadian snacks! (FYI that's also how I got curious about TabiEats through your friend Emmy.) Also... whenever Satoshi likes something and goes "love love love love..." but it ends up sounding like "lobu lobu lobu lobu..." LOL his enthusiasm is really cute. Seeing you two get excited and/or enjoy different food is always a small joy for me and so I hope you can both keep doing this together for a long time. Have a great 2018!

The train station bento video (it was the first video I saw from your channel, and I really liked watching your scenic shots and food critiques) 2. The "trying U.S. snacks" video (I'm from the U.S. so this was pretty entertaining to watch) 3. The LA Little Tokyo video (I grew up in the LA area, so this video was pretty nostalgic for me. My 3 favorite videos of 2017: Epic Oden Taste Test (7-11): When I first saw this, it didn't even appeal to me because it didn't look tasty at all. It looked like just a bunch of things boiled. But something about it stuck with me all year, I kept thinking about it, so a couple of weeks ago I went to my local Asian grocery store and bought a bunch of different kinds of fish balls, konbu, bonito flakes, and daikon and I made oden! I was surprised at how flavorful it was and I'll definitely be making it again this winter. Street Food Akihabara: I enjoy all the street food videos so I'm just picking this one. I really like the idea of just going to a place and trying out the different snacks at local shops/stands. Epic Chocolat Mukbang: It was just funny watching you guys trying to eat a whole box of chocolates, and I have to admit, it's also a fantasy of mine to actually do it, too!

Three of my favorite videos are 1) Okinawa. 2) 7-11. Any of the videos where you eat 7-11 foods is great. 7-11 in the USA does not have good food like that. I’m amazed. 3) The best peach 🍑 video. Loved seeing the train meals too. And as a bonus favorite is the Street food videos. Loved Narita. I’d love to come eat with you guys one day. I’ve always wanted to visit Japan. Heck I think my whole family wants to visit. Even my 16 year old son would love it. Happy New Year to you both!

Oh my goodness! You have no idea how many videos I've looked at to remember my favorite scenes! I'll start with my 3rd favorite video: The BEST peaches in Japan. At 11:08 Satoshi is picking peaches with you and you both have a look of childlike wonder. It makes me remember picking apples as a kid. I've never felt such nostalgia through a smile! Number two video: Japanese Street Foods of Makishi Market Okinawa Japan: at 2:55 you're looking at the cool designs of the shirts from the pickle shoppe. I see you two have a very special connection to Okinawa. I think the shop owner must have purposely made his shop for you! And number one video: Train Station Bento (Ekiben) Adventure. You start a very catchy tune at 6:15 and dance along for a while. It really made me so happy to see how much you like going on these adventures and that you're actual people not scripted robots. The silliness is really comforting. It's been a great year watching you two. So happy to subscribe!

Happy New Year Shinichi and Satoshi. Thank you for a fantastic year of videos in 2017, and I hope you have a 2018 full of exciting new travels and food experiences. I travelled to Japan for the first time in 2017 with my family and we have fallen in love. Our pre-trip research included many hours of watching your videos and they proved to be so helpful in making our trip extra special. For me the highlights of 2017 were: 1. Street food Jindai-ji - I loved this video so much and our own visit to Jindai-Ji (inspired by you) was a highlight of our trip (plus any video with Shinichi's mother is extra special) 2. Ekiben videos - thanks to your videos every time we travelled or were just in a major train station we sought these out, sooooo delicious. 3. Mt Takai - another wonderful day trip from Tokyo. A wonderful place away from the crowds of Tokyo. We are already planning a return trip in 2018 so am looking forward to more trip ideas and awesome food experiences from you guys. We love you both and wish you a Wonderful 2018.

Happy New Year! Enjoy your well-deserved break! Some of my favorite videos from the past year have been: 1) the epic 7-11 Oden taste test, because I love Oden, and I was blown away by how awesome the food is at 7-11 when I visited Japan last June. 2) the Portland, Oregon snack tastings, because I live there, and I love seeing other folks enjoy our food. 3) the Mochi 5 ways video, because I adore mochi, and am always looking for more ways to eat it!

All your videos are entertaining and informative but my three favourite moments that I chose because they made me laugh and stuck in my brain : 1) "Street food in Japan" complaining about the cold whilst eating the yaki and comparing it to Paris 2) Whole Foods sushi test video, the very start with the "what's up dude?" face 3) tasting snacks from fans video - "I'll give you half of this" "and I'll give you 2/3 of this" Happy new Year!

One of the reasons it made me fall in love with this channel 3) Your Train/ Tour videos - You did a lot of these in 2017. This one i eagerly watch, catching a glimpse of Japan through your tours and awesome food finds. :) Thank you Sinichi and Satoshi! May this new year bring more happiness and new adventures! :D Yay!

The cherry blossoms were also so beautiful and it made me want to go on a picnic in Japan so badly!) - Street Food Japan JINDAIJI (because not only did you show the delicious food, you also showcased a hidden gem right by the large city of Tokyo) - Japanese Eat Filipino Snacks (because I'm Filipino! And i felt so proud that you liked most of what you ate in the video!) Happy New Year to the both of you and thank you for all the entertaining videos you made in 2017!

My favorite videos from 2017 were: A & W in Japan, because I have such good memories of A & W here in the US when I was a child and it was interesting to see what one in Japan was like. The Matcha Snacks and Treats video was my next favorite because matcha is one of the seven wonders of the world! My last favorite video was the Hanami Cherry Blossom Picnic in Yoyogi Park. I would love to see something like that, just a big, pink snowstorm of petals. Thank you both for an awesome year of content. You deserve a break, relax and enjoy!

To answer you: Roast duck, Sugar Walnuts, and Baby peach! I want to try them so much. There are many more, but those are just the ones which really stood out to me. In USA where I live in the Southern region, there is a traditional New Years meal as well. That meal is usually a glazed and baked ham (outside glaze is sweet, usually made with honey or brown sugar, but the mean is salty of course), collard greens (usually cooked in pressure cooker with seasonings), black-eyed peas (cooked with the ham bone and some ham fat), and corn bread. These are served together on a plate, and the old folks (my grandparents' generation) will tell you you have to eat lots of collards and black peas or you won't have any money this year (collards representing dollar bills and peas representing coins. My grandmother would say you get a dollar for every collard green you eat! I hated them, so I'd break them into tiny tiny pieces and see if that worked. Haha! Maybe it's why I never got much money when I was a kid? XD) My family does not carry on this tradition because we hate most of these foods, and are not superstitious enough to eat collards! Haha. For New Years this year we instead just had a meal we like, nothing specific. Our family's tradition now is more about starting the New Year how you want to live the next year, so having something you really love so you'll enjoy your food all year. I hope you found this interesting. Thank you for sharing with us!

What a nice S.O. to spare their partner's feelings lol. 1) US 7-11 taste test because the disappointment on your faces were priceless lol! Welcome to the disappointing 7-11 clubs, fellas! Happy New Year Brothers! Your Osechi dishes looked amazing! We paid the same amount for our pre-ordered Osechi out here in So. Cal., but did not receive the same quality, nor did we receive the variety that you boys did. I have to say that we were a bit disappointed with this particular market-which typically has really good quality Japanese food. We will definitely be going back to Tokyo Central to order next year. It’s a bit pricier, but the quality is better. Thank you for sharing your special day with us! Please really relax and enjoy your much needed and deserved break!! ♥️♥️

This was so much fun to watch because my family (my mum, dad and me) also love to eat at Japanese restaurants. 1. Eating frozen foods from local japanese grocery/corner store. This varies upon country, and I have recently bought frozen foods from my local asian market that were imported from korea and japan. These are the best foods to cook and to eat with no additional problems-comparing to most frozen foods here in america that are very sloppy and lacks quality. 2. Tasting mexican food in LA. Hispanic foods are absolutely wonderful to try, regardless of where you live. Full of flavour and sometimes you get more than what you pay for-because they can be cheap! :) 3. Vending machine foods and drinks. Some of these can be over priced-such as BOSS drip coffee, but other foods that are packaged; burgers, egg rolls, etc. they can be a quick meal in a hurry and can be cost efficient.

Happy New Years and enjoy your break! My favorite videos are the Japanese try American 7-11 for the first time simply because of the items you guys chose and the comparisons to the 7-11 back in Japan. Another favorite is the Trying Okinawa food and snacks. I think Shinichi was in a little bit of Hawaiian heaven there. The third favorite would be the Daiso Ramen maker test. Actually, I like all the Daiso/kitchen product test videos, but ramen is my favorite of them. Mostly because I like instant ramen a lot, but it inspired me to go out and get a microwave ramen cooker (a different version, but still).

That Osechi is BEAUTIFUL and the fact that it came from 7-11 is AMAZING. I think it was well worth the money because everything looked delicious. :) I"m so proud and happy for all that you have accomplished in 2017. I think I found you guys in 2016..... (I think the first video I saw you in was the 18+ Spicy Curry) and you sure have grown. You guys are my favorite channel and I love watching all of your videos. I have learned so much from you both and I can't wait to visit Japan one day because I will have so much knowledge! Thanks for all that you do and here's to your continued success in 2018! :) My 3 favorite videos in 2017 were: 1: Mother's Gyoza Recipe 5/23/17: I loved your "Cooking with Mom" videos when she came to visit. Your interactions with her were super sweet and I LOVE this recipe. I have added it to my recipe book and I make it often. She is fabulous and I can't wait to see more videos of her again when she comes to visit. 2: Beer Battered Karaage 3/21/17: This is my FAVORITE recipe and I make it almost weekly! I get many complements when I make it and it's all thanks to you. :) The opening of the video is hilarious and makes me laugh every time I watch it. 3: Nuclear 2x Spicy Ramen Challenge 10/6/2017: I sure hope livestreams count because this is one of my favorites. I love ramen, spicy foods, and watching you guys suffer and this had all 3! (No, I really don't want you to really suffer, like in pain, but when you eat spicy foods, it makes me laugh so much I start to cry.) This one was done live so no fancy editing, just unedited suffering and recovery, LOL. I probably couldn't handle it so hats off to you two for doing what you do. Enjoy your break and can't wait to see you guys next week. Take care!

My three choices are: 5 types of ramen, no oven sponge cake, and the review you did on Nogata Hope. I had no idea there were different types of ramen, so I actually tried several at the local ramen place here in Salt Lake City. I am addicted to ramen now. I was very interested in learning new ways to bake in the summer without heating up the entire house, so your sponge cake recipe is awesome. It’s still a work in progress for me as I am gluten intolerant. I loved the review you done on Nogata Hope on their ramen. That made me very interested in traveling to Japan. Happy New Year!

1.The best soba noodles in Mt Takao. I picked this one as when I travel to japan in a couple of months, my husband and I are a bit hesitant to leave Tokyo city as we don't want to miss anything. In seeing this video we came to the conclusion that a day trip out of tokyo to My Takao is a must and we would regret it if we didn't get to try the best soba noodles while there! 2. Thankyou so much it was perfect and m Inari Sushi is a bit with my family and friends! 3. Convenience store Onigiri Showdown! Because Onigiri is life!
