My hair is very wavy when it’s soaking wet with products in it, I used a leave in , curl cream and gel. It did not stay wavy when it dried. I decided i jumped to too many products at once. I never used leave in , I only used sham/cond before beginning CGM. I only used a light weight leave in and Max hold gel, I actually slept with it up fanned out. It is wavy today. I also use coconut conditioner to use as a wash, between shampoo. It works incredibly well. I am surprised.

Timestamps: 1. 0:37 STOP scrunching as ur hair dries. it creates frizz. scrunch it out with oil when it's dry. 2. 1:44 DONT get a blunt haircut. it can give less definition/weights ur hair down and give u a triangular head. talk to ur stylist. 3. 3:02 STOP being afraid of frizz. esp if u still have definition. It's normal to have frizz. --- 3:17 if ur hair feels heavy, over moisturized, u have halo frizz (frizz at the top of ur head) esp when it is wet, u might have moisture overload. use more protein or take a break from ur deep conditioning treatment. --- 3:22 but if u have a lot of volume, lot of definition, and u still have a bit of frizz: embrace it. It's not a bad thing. You can try to lessen it or make it go with ur hair (enhance it/blend it in with ur hair) 4. 4:23 KNOW ur protein/moisture balance based on ur own hair. ---4:45 protein overload (in her experience): dry hair, frizzy, weird texture and not looking good for 2nd or 3rd-day hair. ---5:10 moisture overload (in her experience): waves are limp. not defined. not a lot of volume. look at ur products (which is protein and which is moisture, how much ur using, and how often u are using them, etc. to avoid an overload). ---5:36 bc everyone has diff hair and u can't depend on just 1 person, search up other videos on how to have a perfect of balance moisture and protein. 5. 6:04 DONT be scared of silicones or sulfates. ---If ur hair loves a product and It's not CGM approved it's okay. ---don't be afraid to give chances to products that have a little silicone or little sulfate. --- If your hair likes the product, it is not gonna destroy ur hair. ---You can do what works for ur hair and not follow the curly girl method strictly if u don't want to (ex. u can use heat, u can use products, but just do what works for ur hair)
@maddielakeland53143 жыл бұрын
yes! love the point about the sulfates. i was using sulfate free only curls cleaser but i felt like my hair was never fully clean. it felt thick and a bit greasy at the roots so i went back to head and shoulders and it instantly felt better and it hasnt made my hair any frizzier.

I know this comment is sooo far into the future, but I'm so glad I found these two videos! I'm just discovering what works well with my hair and I realized just the other night I was putting too much in my hair and the cast was too stiff (2a mostly, some 2b). I decided on leaving a tiny bit of my rinse out in (I didn't have my leave in which is like a thinish lotion) and using gel and a small amt of cream mixed with some water and a little oil to seal it and felt loads lighter with a very light cast. I'll likely have to alternate back to more silicones in the spring, but I think I'm close to finding the right combo. Thanks for these videos!

One of the worst things that happen to me is sleeping on my good hair day. Ugh. I wake up to flat on one side, intense curls on the other side, and I can't even explain the top. Lol. Any suggestions? Or just do a refresh on my hair that's less than 24 hrs from when I shampooed it? Sometimes I feel like shaving it off. In my profile pic I had a kerotin treatment and blow out. I really like my waves when they look good. It gets so frizzy and dry, too . ... Thanks
@viewfromhere573 жыл бұрын
I feel the same…I have ONE good hair day - that’s wash day. Once I sleep, the next day is just crazy bush. Refreshing tips don’t seem to work, it just fluffs and frizzes even more and all the waves say byebye. I look like a triangle head 😑. I have to learn how to use product properly bc once stylers are in my hair - there’s no flipping or touching the hair. If I do, my hair will stay stuck up bc of the product. 🤷♀️

The advice for blunt cut is good for some, but ladies, if you have really fine hair like mine, texture may not be for you... and that is all right!

My daughter is mixed and has SUPER thick, somewhat wavy hair. It seems to be super frizzy all the time, no matter what I do to prevent frizz. I have just recently got onto the curly girl method of doing things, and just taking care of curly / wavy hair in general. I had no idea it was this involved. I do put leave in conditioner, coconut oil, and other moisturizers. What would be a good suggestion to get rid of the frizz?
@Joyride37 Жыл бұрын
I know oils like argan and jojoba can help with frizz after applying curl creams and gels. It would be worth looking into her specific hair type, how low to high her hair porosity and density are (porosity is how well it absorbs water/moisture and density is how easy you can see the scalp when you lift a chunk up), and whether the individual strands are fine, normal/medium, or thick. Then looking into products specific to those conditions. i.e. I have super thick hair in that I have a LOT of it, but my hair strands are fine, and my porosity and density are both low. My waves are naturally around 2A/2B. So for curling creams and gels, I require lighter products with more water, aloe vera juice, and flaxseed, as things like shea butter or coconut oil (within the first five ingredients) don't absorb and sit really heavy and flat on my head and give it a weird, filmy texture.

Hi. I'm just wondering how do you protect your hair against the wind? I always go out with my hair still wet. Now that I'm trying out curly routines, whenever I walk or ride to work or everywhere, the wind is breaking my curls up. And the frizz. I'm stressed. I have to wet my hair when I arrive wherever I'm going. Help?

Hey Tabitha! I love your channel so much. We have a very similar hair type, and it's so lovely to watch such relatable content. I found you when I had just chopped my hair last year. I was wanting it about the length you have now, but she went much shorter! Watching you was so reassuring when I was bummed my hair wasn't how I wanted it to be. Now, it's about the same length as yours here, and I'm obsessed! So, thank you for the help :) emotionally and with all the info you give! With that said, I was wondering what products you use for protein? I'm thinking I should incorporate a protein mask here or there... but I'm not sure. I would love your thoughts!

Love your videos!! I have been doing the CGM for a month now and I struggle with my waves holding up. I feel like the product sits on top of my hair, weighs it down and it feels gross. I also don’t have much volume because of this. I try not to use a ton of product. I don’t know what to do.

@@SAHMOMentum I struggle with this at times, too. What has been helping me lately (like literally the last couple weeks lol) is washing my hair with a sulfate shampoo once a week (I wash MWF). I use the Garnier Whole Blends Olive shampoo. It just seems to really help with volume and my waves/curls spring up.

If you dyed your hair put this in your mind your hair LOVES protein because bleach weakens the hair strand try to apply a protein treatment When the hair is wet, pull a strand,” he says. “If it stretches and then snaps, it's most likely porous, meaning it is dehydrated! That is a moisture issue. If the hair doesn't stretch and immediately snaps, you need protein to rebuild its structure from within.” Maybe look at this
