Another analysis no one really asked for: I think TTJ challenges viewers by introducing a “vibe” into MTG that many folks aren’t used to/have never seen in their fnm. I suspect it turns a lot of people off, but as Magic becomes more popular we have the privilege of broadening what we define as the “mtg vibe”, and that can include people who challenge the previously stagnant magic nerd stereotype. Sick as hell honestly.

I know Magic isn't for everyone, but I do believe that if more people would give Commander a try, they'd probably think differently about it. At one time, playing video games was considered only for "nerds" and that perception is completely gone now.

@@TabletopJocks My own little theory is that, after the "break up" happened, a lot of people were quick to pick a side (as with any drama) and didn't give TTJ the chance it deserves. If anything, I think your vibe is what made the other channel so popular to begin with.

@@dharcofuruk9105 honestly it’s a crap shoot. I build what I think will be fun for me to pilot and tell everyone else to bring a few options. Then we rule 0 and figure out what would be the best decks to play. I try not to play decks I’ve played before unless they have a bunch of significant changes or if I played a deck and it had a bad showing.
