I'm only a year into playing magic, but I enjoy it far more when building decks around a theme and then finding a way to make it work, rather than picking a commander with a compelling mechanic and just trying to make it ultra competitive. But it seems like with other forms of gaming, just comes down to the different kinds of players. If another player holds me hostage 3 times in 5 games I'm probably not playing with them again 😂 I'll take my low power flavor decks to more aligned waters

The cards he used can be purchased fairly cheaply except for a few. He didn't play cradle until after he had already taken an extra turn, at which point he didn't need it because he has priest of titania and nykthos to make a ton of mana. Timetwister isn't a big deal because we have cards that mimic the effect closely enough and his deck didn't seem to rely on continously refilling his deck. If you remove the cradle and timetwister, the deck can perform practically the same. It's more a color pie issue with blue getting the majority of extra turn spells.

Love what you're doing in the mtg community, and so I say this with love: Cassius might be a great sponsor but he's not that fun to watch in casual match ups. I wouldn't say he killed this game, he just brought a bazooka to a knife fight. Didn't think he was toxic, the power levels of the decks where just *ahm* somewhat unhinged. This match reminded me heavily of a game on "the command zone" where he put everybodys cards in their decks and had a "opponents can't draw cards" effect. And also extra turns.

Cash isn't as bad as some people are making him out to be. I love him. And trust me when I say I can understand the frustration of sitting dead in the water especially when you know what some other people have in their decks. It didn't read as toxic, it read as urgency because if you don't get your shit out there quick, you're done. Not only that he did apologize to Joe for getting a little passionate.

I was curious so I combed back through the footage. Cassius says that the previous turn before he got attacked by Joe's commander that he and Joe made a deal. Cassius' turn that cycle began at 10:27 Joe's turn that cycle began 13:55. Between the 10:27 and 27:53 where Prof corroborated that there was no deal I saw maybe one exchange at 26:48 This exchange here could be conceived at best as an acceptance by Joe of the fairly mean Timetwister that Cassius launched at the table. A play that he gloated about quite a little bit btw. Here's the timestamp for that 22:17 In summary Cassius Marsh exposed himself in this extremely public video for displaying the following traits: Underhanded-ness, gaslighting, supremely petty and hurtful bravado, finally culminating in that Toddler-esque tantrum where he says iconically "I'm in a scoopy position." Holy shit. Bravo Prof for implementing the time limit on Cassius' victory. It's truly a shame that it came to that because once you get to that point the sportsmanship and enjoyability of a game as diverse and multi-faceted as Magic boils down to how quickly and loudly can you talk over your friends while they sit with no mana, no permanents and an infinite amount of turns between now and when they can cast another spell. I'm fucking mad. And the main reason is that this is on TableTop Jocks. This is Joe's KZbin channel and Cassius has the nerve, the gall, the cajones, the unchecked and unchallenged hubris to claim that by Joe attempting to challenge the guy who notoriously plays the most expensive and exploitable cards in the entire game he's being unfair. FUCK THAT! Learn to see with someone else's eyes you egotistical crybaby.

So, While I personly dislike x-turns (...) this game wasn't with me at the table. So while I understand that people's feedback is appreciated, being viewers and all, anomaly-games is part of MTG too. (it's a card game after all 🙄) I think that everyone was good at participating in conversations, even during other's turns, and seemed entertained. (no lengthy silence took place). P.S It was smart by the crew, to 'turn time' into 'the enemy' of Cass'. As soon as no player at the table, could fulfill that role at the end. While I personly prefer to watch/participate in games which play out differently. It is just as important for the crew to have fun as well. Its all about balance. Best Regards, Jesper J. Winther

Just for clarity for me. I think Cassius read Timetwister wrong. To my understanding, Timetwister is set to a new grayeyard pile because you settle your old into your librabry. So timetwister should be the first card in his new graveyard and not reloaded into his deck. You then treat that new graveyard like your normal graveyard from that point on. It may have been errated so feel free to correct me if im wrong.

Cassius looking at the person next to him at the table the entire game, playing netdecked cedh deck at a causal table, having a deck that costs 20k more than anyone else’s, taking back plays over and over, mumbling and playing slow, acting like a f-ing baby when anyone does anything to him, and then celebrating like a 3 year old at the end is always so rage inducing. Legitimately the most nightmare person to play magic with and he would be such a salty baby at a table with competent pilots with fringe cedh decks.

I would love to see all these players again, but with budget decks. I think that would be a good game.

Timetwister, I don’t believe, exiles. It was worded that way to prevent players from shuffling ITSELF into the owner’s library. Now that rules are much clearer, we would know that, because a spell doesn’t go to the graveyard until it fully resolves.

Cass playing solitaire so late in the video; he should quit Magic & play meta-Yu-Gi-Oh! instead. 😂 The video was pretty enjoyable until Cass popped off & stopped everyone else from playing. I had a similar moment of unenjoyment from a Game Knights video where Josh's turns got controlled twice. But that clutch against the clock! Amazing plays, but poor behavior from Cass (as an stranger watching a stranger). I look forward to more episodes where hopefully everyone takes turns & if solitaire occurs, it's kept to one turn per player instead of 18. 😉

There are 2 types of game content on this channel it seems. The electric gameplay ones where the decks are fair and then the banter ones which is more comedy based and less interesting gameplay wise. But I like both.

The game was a fun watch, I'm not sure if Cass' salt was genuine but it did seem to bump the rooms vibe for a second. Glad to see it was overall a fun game. I look forward to the next episode!

The decklists are linked in the bio. I feel like they are all pretty even and considering we always do rule 0 and play to have fun with one another no one is here to stomp on anyone. We are all friends and that’s how it goes in your playgroup sometimes. We act the same way when the cameras are on or off. Decks go off sometimes, it’s the pilot. I’m sure you could give us all precons and we would do work. We are good deck builders and pilots. Give us our flowers.

We are all homies having a good time! We just end up filming it! It’s always all love between us. We try and make sure to do exactly what we would do if the cameras weren’t on so people can see the real! Much appreciated and thanks for the love as always! ☺️

When you've been at this game as long/hard as Shivam, the only way to still get a buzz is to play the jankiest jank. I think I saw him in a dark alley once, shooting up Moxen and Black Loti, no clue how he could afford the good stuff, but I guess what you need, you find a way to get. Let's just say I ran like only a flock of seagulls could! I have a Simic deck, it's the most combo oriented deck I've ever seen, it's just various combos shoved together, most of them share enough pieces that whatever you draw you just vomit it onto the board and win. At least it's somewhat janky combo, but I've been fiddling with it for awhile and *still* find new combos/interactions most games I win. It's a good playtesting deck I find because it tends not to interact very much, but it also adds a very real clock. I like combo decks to actually win if they 'do their thing', Simic is better at winning than most colour pairs, I guess it is funny when something like Gitrog 'goes off' and just trips over it's own shoe-laces and loses, but I'd rather watch then feel it myself! While technically every colour has interaction, there is a sharp drop going from Blue to White to Red, and Golgari is atrocious at stack interaction, so bad at it that I still can't believe people run Golgari decks in cEDH, but they do and sometimes they do stuff so who knows?
