I was surprised by that temple guard blue on the night lords. Expected a bit lighter color like hoeth blue or something but these turned out great.

you can use Hoeth blue, I use temple guard blue as this looks like what the studio use to paint theres :)

Very good idea! In 40k I have seen Chaos Marines portrayed in standard black armours, proper for Sons of Horus (Black Legion now). It is also official outlook on GW website and boxes with Chaos Marines. But they came from different legions, so why they shouldn't keep their legions colours?

black legion are like the poster boys for chaos marines. like ultramarines. they do support the other legions though as well

I always used to use shades in recesses like in some of your older videos. but recently ive started to notice a lot of issues with shades that i'm having. E.g: Covering up details making it hard to fix mistakes, most prominent on the recess shade around space marine lenses. They would make for very annoying experiences. So from now on ill stick to using shades for effects, paper and metallics. Have you or anyone else encountered these issues and have you started using normal paint for your recesses because of this issue?

yes I had the exact same frustrations using shade for recessing, this is why I switched to using paints as well :)

nice, just rember to take your time, if your just starting out just get use to putting paint on your miniature first before worrying about shading and highlighting

Wow, those are great! Those details really do take it to the next level. I have a few different factions of these mosters. I likethe Death guard look most. I do notice that they seem to have a more unique look about them than your average chaos monsters. I have not yet had the opportunity to play a game as i have just taken up the hobby and am having trouble finding answers to some questions i might have. I know you are not a rules channel so i apologize if this question is a bitin the weeds but you seem to be quite knowledgeable about how to paint figures. Would it be acceptable to paint the other chaos forces and demons in a puky (pardon my spanish) greenish blue orange to play as death guard or would i be required to fabricate custom, or use borrowed antlers and such to make the figures better fit the part? I am up to the challenge if this is required. It would be a shame to show up and not be able to play. Any advice would be helpful. Thank you.

Welcome to the hobby 😁 a great part of the hobby is the creativity. We can imagine and create our own colour schemes, lore and paint the miniatures how ever you want. The miniatures you see already painted represent factions and characters that exist in the lore. Have fun with it and your still be able to use these uniquely painted miniatures in games
