1: Domination is actually in E standard but a quarter step down or 430hz, 2: bombtrack isn’t played with plain double stops, instead you want to play 4, 3 and 2 on the low E and A string and 6,5 and 4 on the D and G string

Obviously one of my bigger problems is that I don't own enough guitars, but ignoring that for the moment, how are you getting those good metal tones?
@KevinBalke Жыл бұрын
In my opinion, good metal tones are rather simple. Simply using one of the typical high-gain amps (Rectifier, 5150, Engl, ...) or any decent digital recreation should get you 80% there.

That’s a good metal tone? 🤢. It’s a generalized/rainbow metal tone. Fits here and there but definitely doesn’t fit on every application

Ngl as a beginner, I reallly hate the recommended regular punk rock and rock songs people say allll the time to learn to ect ect. Nun of them taught me muscle memory for each of my finger or to have confidence to move my head and fingers around while keeping a regular rhythm. This vid and all these songs have helped me evolve muscle memory for my all my fingers. Lots of finger talk but rightfully so man. I appreciate the group of people out here posting these types of videos pls keep going and hopefully one day I can find a Duckboy video to learn the guitar on his music.

Hey Kevin, I love your tab videos and use them to learn songs. If possible, I'd love to see your process for creating backing tracks for these videos. Seems like you write the drum and the bass parts. Yourself and I would love to learn to do the same for composing my own music. Thanks a lot.
@ryanzakk Жыл бұрын
the easiest thing to do is find out of the song has a midi version or a pro tab and export the midi file to your DAW and then just edit the tempo or any notes and drums you think are wrong, give you a good template, and the better vsts you have (superior drummer , getgood drums, etc will be better better than just jamming to a midi track) that probbaly makes no sense if your super new to recording, but if you have an idea, it should be straight forward :) worst case scenario you can just listen to the song and construct the drums from scratch, same goes for bass with vsts, unless you have a real bass in whitch case just record it like guitar

Awesome videos, and fantastic technique... Do you think there’s any way you could share your EQ settings to get this tone? Out of all the Metallica tone tutorials, I really think your tone is best, so I’d really appreciate if you could share some tips on which equipment you use and what your settings are to get this tone. Cheers!

I’ve just started learning and watching your videos has been helping me. Can I ask, when I look at the tabs on some songs, you are playing two of the things on the same fret but only plucking the top string? It’s throwing me off as I don’t understand why you hold the two strings on those frets but only plucking the one string. Sorry for the long message, but your videos are awesome!
@ryanhass8716 Жыл бұрын
You might be talking about muting. Especially if you're playing distorted riffs like this, you can get a lot of excess noise. The solution to this is to gently rest your free fingers on the strings you don't want to sound. The other thing you might be talking about is an economy of motion thing. Like if you are playing notes on the 3rd fret of the lowest string, and you know you have some power chords coming up on that same fret, you might as well have them in position ready to go, rather than just lifting them all the way up.
@TruthHurts2u11 ай бұрын
It's just visual. He's hitting both strings but you can only see the top string vibrating in the video making it appear he's only playing the one string. If the tab shows two notes play both notes.
