Not laughing at ypu or anyone in particular, but bass fishermen do struggle to throw a plastic with anything less than 1/4 oz jig. Inshore, we commonly throw weight less jerks, 1/16th and up jig heads on plastics with casting reels. Same reels you use for cover type fishing. The curados, lews customs and tournaments, diawa tatulas, and so on. Try lighter rods and line.
