Thanks for your reply in regards to the Okuma EVX Bass rods. I was able to get a 7'2" and a 7'5" both heavy action. I really like them as you thought I would. Thanks again for sharing your experiences and willingness to answer questions. Have a Happy and Blessed 2024!

I've got a couple Okuma's and I really like'em they seem to be a great rod. I use their big swimbait rod for my S-Waivers and BullShads. I can't remember which on it is right now but I love it.

TackleJunky81 do you ever sell your older model rods and reels(13 or Okuma), or do you have to return the ones given you by the company? Thx
@TackleJunky816 жыл бұрын
Matthew Moore I don't have to return them, but I haven't sold any Okuma gear. Sold all my 13 gear.
@matthewmoore58406 жыл бұрын
TackleJunky81 well that’s a plus. So when or if you do sell your gear or tackle, where do you sell it? I’m only asking bc we can all see that you take extremely good care of everything you have. Also I can’t find any store in my area that carries Okuma rods. I fishing 13 rods right now, but I’m looking at buying a shorter med/mod rod for jerk baits and topwater, but I like to be able to put my hands in something before I buy it. Any suggestions?

Ready to head back to Illinois in the morning. Down in Florida visiting parents . Took a day and scratched a lake off my bucket list. Hired a guide on Okeechobee. Got lucky and got Tom Mann jr as a guide and got my first bass of 2018 and first bass on my TCS 7 ft heavy.

My spinning reels are Okumas, and I had them paired up with Okuma rods. But both of them broke pulling fish our of the river and when I sent them in for replacement, I was denied, so I wound up getting different rods for them.

I just got the 6’6 jerkbait/crankbait TCS rod partly because of your precious Okuma videos. It is a good length for me since I do my fishing from the bank. I am interested in getting the 7’3 heavy for frogs and swimbaits as well. Awesome video

I still use my Okuma Avenger baitfeeder reel. Great reels for the price, I use them for salt and fresh in fact you see me catching 3 bass on that reel combined with my custom rod that I made from Mudhole in the last video I just posted. I've had that reel for 4 years, caught everything from Redfish and trout to bass and chain pickerel. I always reccomend them to people who ask me what reel I use.

I own many Okuma rods and reels and from what I’ve found they are good but not any better than their competitors at the same price point. Okuma has the absolute worst costumer service and replacement parts are incredibly hard to get. I’ve been waiting 7 months for a rod upper section from Okuma and still not available. My Lamiglas upper rod section took 3 days to get from Lamiglas .I’m no longer going with Okuma for this reason.

I have a few questions regarding the helios tcs reels vs diawa. Have you ever had or used a Diawa Tatula ct type r? How would you say it compares to a Helios TCS? Cast ability , reliability, longevity, and feel in hand? I am a frugal college student who doesn't have much money to spend, and would love to know which one you think would be best worth my money considering I can only get one. Any advice would be appreciated
@TackleJunky816 жыл бұрын
I have a few of the CT Type R's...killer reels. The TCS is also a killer reel. The TCS is lighter and much more comfortable in hand. Both great casting reels. I like running all TCS reels as it doesn't throw off the feel of the combos especially when switching the weight of a lure. The TCS reels handle both light and heavy lures as well as light and heavier line. Really can't go wrong with either reel.
@lucasehrhardt55546 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the advice and very prompt response. I will probably end up going with the okuma TCS considering I already have the rod and have heard nothing but good things. Great informative video, I will definitely be subscribing and checking in regularly.

I've been a big fan of Okuma spinning reels for a while. I have 3 different ones, don't have any baitcasters though. I like BPS baitcasters with the DBS on them. I was curious about the new Helios spinning reel. Please do a review once you have a solid opinion about it. It was either that reel or another Inspira. I like the Inspira almost as much as my Ci4+ which I only paid $180 for, and that's the only reason I got it.

Hey really enjoy your videos....I own and love the TCS rods however there’s one thing I don’t love about them...I’ve noticed the nice dark blue tape that holds the eyes on fades away to silver it definitely takes away from the overall look of the rod...I was wondering if you experience this and if so know anyway to prevent it ...thanks for any help...
