Id play Tacoma over Gone Home anytime. But the stories of both games are too predictable. I don't even know why I played gone home till the ending. The moment i started playing it I knew that there was SPOILER ALERT, there was not going to be a horror aspect and as I met Sam's girlfriend Lonnie, I immediately knew they probably ran away together. Not such an impactful story considering that there is no gameplay xD. Tacoma on the other hand had a nice twist to it and I actually felt like listening to the characters, was fun!

these 2 games are completely different genres. Splatoon is a 3rd person shooter and Tacoma is a 1st person puzzle adventure game.

I've been over these "walking simulators" basically since they became popular, there's been some interesting ones, but walking around, reading and listening to endless dialogue is just boring. The best one I've played is by far What remains of Edith Finch and what made that one different was the gameplay mixed with the amazing story. All I see in Tacoma is story, no gameplay... same as Gone Home, which I found really boring and underwhelming.

Léön Kroß I agree! That's exactly the problem I see the most with games like this, and it's one I felt "What remains of Edith Finch" solved in a very unique way. And that's why it's by far the game so far in 2017 that has had the biggest impact on me personally, it had both the characters and engaging gameplay to keep it going. It was the first "walking simulator" I wished continued, hehe.

Eh, I personally prefer games like this. I'm not a big fan of "actual gameplay", I don't really have much patience for it so having the option to play games where I can focus purely on the story is very attractive to me. So while not everyone likes walking simulators, a lot of people do. It gives me the option to enjoy a good interactive story without having to spend hours shooting Geth to unlock it.

Quite a few of those exclusives are only exclusive by default. Sony isn't helping in development in any way, they're just profiting off the continued Japan-centrism of those devs. It's really a shame, because besides Horizon, I'm not super into any of Sony's first party stuff (I know everyone likes and says it's all great, well done stuff; no disrespect intended). I am, however, interested in Yakuza and Persona; and there's no good reason why either one should be Sony exclusive.
