For those who want to keep the stock wheels: I have a 2018 Offroad at stock height and literally just installed 265/75/16 tires which equates to a 31.7" wheel; no shaving required and no rubbing at all at full turn. Like TT mentioned, I believe you could get away with 32"s at stock height with zero shaving/rubbing, but I haven't seen any tire spec combo that gets you to exactly 32" at R16.

Yup I put 265/75/16's on my 2020 & no issues. Then I got stupid & put a 2/1 lift. Spacer/Block. Every 6 months I had to get alignment & it had a wobble in rear. Live & Learn. I got 2023 trdSport recently & I may leave it stock & just go tad bigger tire.... Or I may go Bilsteins 5100 adjustable shock/strut set at 1 on front & Bilsteins on bacK. No block. So it will be leveled & not much different geometry then factory. Then I may go 275/70/17 on stock wheels. Shouldn't have any rub or cutting..... Lifted Tacoma's look sweet BUT it comes with a pricetag. Even if you do the best of the best be ready for issues. It's almost a guarantee.....2/1 lift did very little to MPG. Bigger tires WILL reduce MPG by 2/3+ MPG

@@Eastsidegeorgiaboy True, stock width is 265, but my point was about the series, 70 vs 75. 285/70/R16 is basically 32's, but depending on the offset most people seem to rub going that route without a lift and cutting. @69sound81 Жыл бұрын
Your offset and and wheels (how wide are they) are a huge part of it. Offset changes how tires fit in the truck and how wide you go on your wheels will change how the tires fit on them, so it will also affect how flat or round they become at certain pressures as well as how much bulge you get on your sidewalls, which translates on the rub you can expect between the tire and the suspension components too. Always remember that the way your tires fit only apply to your exact setup (mods, wheels, offset, suspension components, suspension wear, specific tires, etc)

285's are just to big for a stock tacoma or even with a 2" lift. You can fit 265 70 17 or 265 75 16's. There almost 32's or go with some pizza cutters. 255 85 16's. I don't know why everyone works so hard to fit tires that definitely don't fit. They're heavy, they throw your speedo off, they're likely to ware parts prematurely and they rub. So just don't do it. Not worth it. You can off road with 265's. Your talking an inch difference.
