One thing people don’t realize too is how different stuff like this is compared to regular weight lifting. Someone could be very strong in the gym but if they only are training their muscles in isolation and their body isn’t used to working together then they’ll suck at stuff like this. Compound movements in the gym is definitely something that should be a primary focus for soldiers, cops, and armed citizens
@IronInfidel3 жыл бұрын
I completely agree. Compound movements should be the center of our training programs. Thanks for the support and comment! Alex

For the low crawl drag, a workout that is equally exhausting on both arms at once would be a heavier sandbag and just carabining the sandbag to the plate carrier. It’s a real smoker! None the less great work

Thank you for the affirmation! Not only is going to the outdoor range and standing at the bench unchallenging (tryin to be nice here), but it's not how things would truly play out if something unfolded unexpectedly. I made up this drill I call "Run For Your Life!" Personally I like to use 4" and 6" paper plates as targets- they're cheap, easy to see shot placement, and adhere to the: "Aim small, shoot small" theory. I don't time this drill as this one is based on execution with exhaustion. Use 3-4 plates in varying positions and spread way out- some at 7 yds, some at 15 yds; each plate gets 3 shots. I get kitted up and then disassemble my pistol and scatter the pieces on the bench, then start the drill: 20 jumping jacks followed by a sprint to the 25yd target and back, repeat 3x or until I'm gassed (Do NOT lie. If you're not beat, do another run-you only cheat yourself!). On final run back, head to the bench, reassemble, load, and start shooting. But wait! SPOILER!! You only have 5 rds in your 1st mag so you HAVE to reload on the move to finish the drill! This is even more fun with friends who can randomize the rds in the 1st mag so you're truly blindsided by the reload and/or use snap caps to simulate a jam you have to clear as well. Another variation involves the above scenario with the addition of a carbine- instead of a reload, transition from rifle to pistol to finish the drill. This drill packs a lot of punch because it forces the shooter to manage breathing while making controlled, well-placed shots, reloading/clearing a misfire/transitioning to another weapon smoothly, all while on the move. Good luck and have fun!

this goes far beyond normal training here in USA. Most people just go to a range and accomplish nothing at all, threfore wasting a lot of time and money. The range is for sighting in weapons and thats it. If you think static shooting off a bench is actually challenging you are not a warrior at all ! You are just a lazy Amercan wasting your time and money and likey not even healthy as well. Get off the couch and go get it !

I had people who clearly had no clue what they were talking about just straight up talking shit about how this type of training doesn't do anything.. they argued even further about subjects they don't know anything about such as how our bodies deal with stress.. fyi stress is stress your body can't tell the difference and your brain is only capable of telling the difference when you have experience. Anyway sick video man loved every moment of it. Hoping my stress inoculation course gets more popular and people start to see the benefits in it instead of it being shat on be keyboard warriors. Excellemt perspective on fitness and shooting or reacting under physical stres. Most Amercans today are not fit at all and quite lazy. They think if you have all the bells and whistles you are good to go, and that is a huge mistake in every realm of events. How many people under 40 or 50 do you know that can run a mile or even run two wind sprints back to back and fire accurately ? Most cannot run a mile or even one WS without a heart attack or total depletion of their physicality. Thanks for pointing out the obvious as I have done the same many times for years now and been greatly villified for telling the simple truth of these matters. Never stop training at all levels and this is a perfect example of functional fitness and cross training I have been teaching for years. Most will never go there. I have a lot of fun with all of it,, why not ?

I probably need to do this. I can't even hold a replica of a 6-pound AR for a long time without my wrist aching.

Yeah man, definitely incorporate some weight training into your routine.

This video literally kicked my ass and I love it and it got me thinking since I just turned 50. Why not? I shattered my left radial head and have had a prosthetic since 2014. Most sports I loved have been difficult if not painful since. In 2020 the bad news that my prosthetic is coming loose, it will need replacement, so it's not "if", but "when". Mysterious headaches come and go for months at a time and it's uncomfortable enough to not want to do anything after work or so that's been my excuse. But as I watched this video it made me think of all the benefits I'd gain if I'd just MOVE. Sure, maybe the headaches would still be there and my left arm isn't fully functional like I want it to be, but that's the only drawback I can think of. All I have is excuses. I'm starting tomorrow. I've ordered the Iron Infidel band set, a rogue bag and I have all the other gear. I just need the ass kicking or someone to yell at me. That's something I lack is accountability to someone. Thanks for the motivation!! I appreciate you.

Hey just wanted to ask what precautions do you take to protect yourself and others against lead? Thanks
@IronInfidel3 жыл бұрын
All I do is wash my hands a couple times post shooting. Don't touch my kids until after a shower. That's about it brother.

I tease my buddies because they have the gut and are out of shape. It was evident when my buddy was doing some drills and he missed over 5 rounds at 25 yards on a steel target. I look over and he’s winded and his aim is flying EVERYWHERE. My rig was also over 10lbs heavier than theirs. One thing money can’t truly buy. Get in shape…and then some to compensate for your buddies
