Its called "Hashmonai" vest, used by the Israeli IDF. i use to rock this back when I was listed, the one you showing is the "new" style we call "Kermon", we use to have the Hashmonai carrier vest then on top of that another vest for all the molle stuff, they come in ceramic or HDPE. although what you show here is the new style, the ones that made in Israel companies now are far greater and way more modern, to name a few, Lior Industries, SAAR Advanced IDF Plate Carrier, and my favorite is the "Amran vest" from Marom Dolphin with the waist support. if you have any questions just ask.

When you want to protect you and your buddy with one plate carrier

It’s definitely an interesting carrier. I’ve been to the shop on many occasions when I was at FT Lewis. I think they were at their best when they basically modding and improving issue gear. But this I have no clue.

Years ago Tencate made an armor called liba that consisted of a bunch of ceramic balls held in an elastic polymer. The plates were similarly shaped to concealment cut soft armor. They were big and heavy and I think issued to Humvee gunners. I bet that's what this carrier was made for.

It was supposed to be a universal carrier, but never got popular. IIRC when they were on clearance it was less then $100 USD.

Wonder if that's designed for some of the more obscure hard armor designs like Tencate Super Liba or Osprey plates.

This design is reminiscent of the 50 cal rated armor setups we had during early gwot.

@EODFish Sorry, can't remember the name of the armor carrier system. If it helps... Circa 2003, Afghanistan...we wound up with a couple of body armor setups for testing. Very close to what you displayed in your video. They were designed for vehicle gunners. FWIW, the plates issued with that system were easily 2x the weight of my level 3's. They were also very large, heavy, and hot. By today's standards a level 4 plate and 50 cal do not go together. But at the time we were just seeing upgrades from level 3 and some manufacturers were trying to make increased coverage armor. Perhaps this was the same setup/carrier that you have come across. Best of luck getting a positive identification. Phil

@@philliplopez1501 @EODFish Tencate used to make a very large LIBA plate back in the day. Buffman tested one last year. Maybe its meant for one of those? kzbin.info/www/bejne/r6LTfX1mgq9gmLc

I guess its made for some LE unit to pair with some civilian armor. That is so they can switch the armor between carriers. You more or less said as much so sorry if I'm parroting.

That can't be Interceptor; the IBA is split down the center front.
