My rule of thumb is no more than 15 minutes in one spot. Ever. And that rule applies to catfishing as well. Sure, eventually a fish will probably come by and be ready to eat. But, I’m more concerned with finding the fish that are going to bite right now. Because there are always more big fish ready to eat somewhere else right now, than the number of big fish that aren’t ready to eat right here. I need to be finding those fish.

I just grabbed some Eye Surrender Tacticalbassin Glasses, and boy do they make a world of difference from the others I've tried. Had a 30+ fish day yesterday from the shore, the glasses were the game changer. Walking slow, hiding behind trees, behind sign posts, pitching down the bank before walking down that way, all helped. Ball Head jig with a yamamoto twin tail just gets em. I was getting them on a prototype Bed fishing bait also, and man they were trying to kill it. Thanks for always taking the time to teach us all how to do the thing better. Much love gentlemen!

Don’t get me wrong, you guys incredible at helping us out by filling the descriptions with the gear y’all talk about. However, if possible I think it would be great if y’all could put little time stamps throughout the video on the different points you talk about, that way the people that are on a time crunch could quickly get informed without having to guess where all of the 4 tips are

totally agree, Matt! It’s all about putting odds more in your favor! I love spring because I can take my Riverhawk, turn off motor, and stealth paddle around the shore carefully looking for beds. I also wear either light blue shirt if it’s sunny to blend with the backdrop. Similar to wearing camouflage shirt/hat when fishing from bank.

Such great tips!! I especially want to witness to the tip on fishing baits erratically. Rapalas are excellent lures for this. Jerk and crank just as fast as you please gets results!!!

One thing I love about kayak fishing is the advantage of stealth, quiet & a smaller presence in water. No trolling motor noise. Of course you can be loud in a kayak to. But it's easy to be quiet. I turn my transducers off in the kayak a lot. I actually only keep my 3n1 transducer on when I'm scanning around marking waypoints. Then I disable the transducer & fish my waypoints. I will use my lvs34 transducer & fish waypoints. But I fish with both ducers off alot too.

You can't overstate the importance of polarized sunglasses... It's incredible at how much glare gets reduced. Useing these allows me to see fish following my lure that I wouldn't seen had I not had them

I typically hang up my bass gear in mid March due to the fact that out here in Southern California, everyone and their grandma decides it’s time to hit the lakes! Super crowded, extremely pressured, tons of boat traffic, and, our lakes are fairly small compared to the rest of the country. So, I dust off my surf fishing gear and fish saltwater until October… summer is spent surfing and fishing in Baja Mexico!

My primary local lake I often call the Dead Sea. It's the most frustrating / pressured lake I've ever fished. One day you catch 5+. Other days I struggle for a single bite and end up switchin off to white bass just to get fish stink on my hands. When I go to other lakes it almost always feels like an an Episode of the Bill Dance Show. I'll never give up on my Dead Sea. I've gotten multiple 5-10 lb fish, but it's highly inconsistent especially once it's 90-100 deg out.

I have a expensive pair Costa sunglasses. A couple days ago a lens JUST POPPED OUT and fell in the water. I only wore them 5x. Prescription with their version of bifocal which is absolutely horrible. I may try to get it replaced or just throw them out. What a waste of money!!!!
Just curious, if they’re going to come up and spawn typically and yes if they do get spooked, how do you know for sure that they don’t or won’t back into the shallows? are their studies or are you just making an observation from years and years of fishing experience?

I know it sounds crazy, but if I’m bed fishing from the bank, you bet your butt I’ll have camo on. I always get stopped (just for a second) because people think I’m trying to illegally turkey hunt their property when really, I’m just trying to bed fish some bass lol I’ll stand right over them and straight line um like I’m jigging for crappy lol it’s not any fun to catch a bass 2 feet off the bank if you’re standing on the bank lol it’s done and over in the blink of an eye lol most of the time your hook that will double as a bank flip😂😂 it’s a great way to get some good pictures but as far as fishing goes I prefer fish that are farther away, so I can have the pleasure of reeling them in it stretches out the moment lol nothing makes me happier than getting a bite really far out cause I get to fight it all the way back lol
