And... the cheapest mags in a ds 1911. The gun was a bargain for what you get in comparison. The website and level of customization is second to none. Best ordering experience to date. @Swampytheroot Жыл бұрын
Looking at it, the grip angle seems a bit past the 1911 angle which is optimized to avoid wrist strain. I think it's 17°. That looks to be just enough more an angle (20°?) to actually cause a slight pinch in the wrist. I would guess it would have to be a bit more angular to use the Glock mags which don't emulate the 1911 feed angle. That's an issue for folks with hand nerve issues as it crimps the nerve bundle at the wrist. Nice presentation. Sitting here now with a Sig 1911 and a Glock 41 observing what's comfortable and what numbs my hand, it's only maybe 5 or 6° of angle. With the 1911 my wrist is pretty much straight; the angle is in the way the hand grips it. With the 41, the wrist has to turn down significantly to put sights on target. That angle in the wrist compresses nerves and makes it difficult to use for a range session with numbness and loss of sensation and strength
@iBlackForce_NRG Жыл бұрын
It’s a 1911 grip angle

So my real question is would you consider it as your duty gun (possibly the Commander size for CCW) or just a range toy? I’m considering a Prodigy Commander but the sheer amount of options available for this thing is *insane!* And new calibers are set to be added so hopefully they do a 10mm using G20 mags. Side note, they also have a similar gun builder set up for their standard 1911’s. Believe optional calibers are 9, 38 Super, 10mm, & 45. Only big difference I’ve seen is that the 1911 doesn’t have as many color combinations: pick a color and the whole gun is gonna be that shade.

@@TacticalConsiderations I have a staccato. It's been incredibly reliable and shoots great. But I wouldn't say I love it. I hate how expensive the mags are and I hate I had to send it off to get stippled because they don't offer their x-tac grip for the C2. That said, staccato reliability is well know at this point with many police agencies using them. Stealth arms changes the game though because if it can be as reliable or better, using glock mags, and being customizable at this price point, there's no reason to buy staccato.

Received my Platypus and overall think it’s pretty sweet. Unfortunately, the ambi safety pinches my right (dominant) hand if I disengage with a full grip. Actually drew blood while I was trying to find a work around. Yes, I could just get a single sided safety, I’m an ambi fanboy. I’ve got 7 other 1911/2011’s that don’t cause the pinch, so that definitely rained on my parade a little bit.

I like the shorter slide version for carry and the recoil change is very minimal.

This will be my next pistol purchase. Helps I have a mountain of Glock mags. Only question I have is, what is the mag release made of? I'm a little concerned that if it's a metal mag release that it will eat up the polymer Glock mags.
@TacticalConsiderations Жыл бұрын
Its really good. Mag release is metal . Mags are disposables not meant to last forever

I nabbed up one of those water bottles. The first thing I thought was I want one but can't get mags... I am going to get one I think. Either this or the steel frame PDP. Cannot decide.

Since they are close in price, do you have a plan to compare it with a BUL Armory TAC 4.25

Idk but to me metal mags are what i like. The glock mags are reliable but you lose capacoty for no reason. Does those metal mbx glock mags work in this thing. Cause then maybe id pick it up but idk.
@TacticalConsiderations9 ай бұрын
If they are glock pattern they should work.

Just curious, haven't seen anyone talk about the internals. I'm assuming at this price point it is like the Prodigy and all MIM parts?
@TacticalConsiderations11 ай бұрын
I don't have the full list of parts that are machines or not. MIM if done right wont make any difference.
@JCarruth13011 ай бұрын
@@TacticalConsiderations For sure...was just curious as I know it plays more of a factor after high round counts...or atleast so they say. Did it come with a 1 piece guide rod? I had to get the Dawson one for my prodigy. I hate having to remember loosening that allen screw!

Wow it looks great thank you! I’ll check out the sniper grey. I was using smoke, Springfield grey, concrete, and sig dark grey with Barrett bronze on the configurator and another one with some tans also. I had like 40-50 configured on their site 😂. Just trying to find some online references to the cerakote finishes. I’m not always huge on contrasting frames and slides but it can look great and it would be hard not to with all the cerakote options.
