Frost is more than a CC frame now. He’s a mass debuffer cause enemies are armored strip and take a lot more crit chance/damage from you as well. On top of all the overguard you gain makes you practically immortal

No, Icy Avalanche went up to a solid A. Frost himself is still 2.5 dead abilities. I love Frost. I've used him a ton, and was the dedicated globe guy WAAAY back in the day farming prime parts in Orokin Tower Defense missions. In every single game I play, I'm drawn to the ice caster mage or ice melee tank. I use the night wave ice armor set to make my other frames look like Frost. I bought his heirloom instantly when it came out, and he's my first statue in the backroom (with a little shrine with all 4 of his different noggles). But he STILL needs a massive rework. Since they allowed us to shoot through the globe, his 1 has no use (you're never casting it on an enemy) unless you're building around the augment, which he is already running 2 of, so you're REALLY strapped for mod space. His 2 is completely laughable, everyone subsumes overtop of it, and no one puts it on other frames. Damage isn't high enough, CC isn't as good as other abilities, plus it's limited to a cone shape. Avalanche is full circle, higher damage, and full freeze instead of slow. Globe maybe has some use cases in excavation or defense missions, but those are terrible missions that nobody farms, and even then the globe is at its best in low difficulty missions for newer players. At end game, the bubble evaporates in no time, and needs to be spammed for its invincibility window. His base stats are all wrong for his builds. Way too low of a base energy for a caster, he's got mechanics that all want high armor and a passive that boosts it, but he has low health and high shields (armor's damage reduction only works on health), and since no one is playing him without icy avalanche anyway, his armor isn't even helping his health pool. I love Frost, but I still recognize that he needs at least 1 fully brand new skill (to replace his 1 or 2), and tweaks to his other skills. He needs to be worth using without running icy avalanche.

Hysteria just has a bad stance but amazing slide attack, and she's one of like three frames that actually use warcry well for armor scaling... assuming you haven't just built to have infinite hysteria because it's really easy to do so these days and the damage honestly is stupid Paralysis arguably would be fine if they removed the pointless shield cost and its radius expand based on duration like polarize/pillage/etc Ripline honestly I'd just like to pull me toward enemies instead of being a much worse Mag pull if she really needs to have a dead (but fun) ability

Hey just a recommendation instead of umbral fiber you get way more value off health conversion, it doesnt proc while you have overguard and gives you 1350 armor baseline once armor breaks for even more overguard

Don't forget that due to the umbral set's nature, one slot buffs the others. So Fiber isn't just giving armor, it's also giving power strength in this build. Granted, it's only 11%, and you'd be better served in that respect with transient fortitude for pure strength. But it's a thing to keep in mind particularly on triple umbral setups (which I'm aware is not the case here).

Ironically though it wouldnt buff your parasitic armor the ideal intensify to use might actually be precision intensify, though i am not 100% sure if you have done the math there or not.

@@PrismariLaura The biggest thing is that the difference is scaling between 11% str and something like an additional 800~ armor is heavily in favor of the armor. Something additional to note is that other than when you lose your overguard the only thing that your armor is doing is scaling your overguard that you are getting from the 4 since armor does not apply reduction to your overguard itself.

Have been looking for a build just like this! It scratches all the itches! Tons of energy, super tanky, and tons of damage. I've been a Frost enjoyer since day 1 but he's been collecting dust in my account. I tried a few other content creators builds to breathe new life into him but always felt his energy economy was lacking. Boosting armor and going with Arcane Battery is such a slick move! Frost has always been the golden boy in my arsenal and after the updates to cold procs, I've played HEAVILY into the walking "Ice Age" setup and have been having a blast. Running Diriga with arc coil for easy energy and veriglass with shivering contagion for easy cold. Also running the Okina incarnon and I can basically run through SP being unkillable spamming melee freezing everything seeing constant million+ dmg hits. Also running the tenet glaxion to keep with the bit lol. I might try out subsuming for armor as right now I am just running nourish on my main build which works fine, but im down to try more stuff.

Important thing to note, armor just increases overguard gained with every single use, power strength increases overguard limit. Im using frost with Energy Orb effiency archon shards, noutish and Tenet Glaxion with Photon Overcharge to gain a higher overguard through multiple uses of his 4th

I love running frost with enough strenght to total strip armor, larva, and the new arcane troculence to max stack viral on all the larva stripped enemies and you can red crit nuke whole rooms with frost easily. Really recommend it 👌

love the build, I have recently started to main him in EDA and Netracells, his overguard and ability to just freeze whole room is amazing. not to mention the red crits on frozen enemies. I peronally dont need the 50k+ overguard, any amound over 30k i think works well. I use breach surge as my helmith ability, and use strun incarnon and blow mobs up lol. millions of damage. the overguard increase from hildryn is nice ngl but i just dont think its needed tbh. Nothing really hits hard, and my frost build uses adaptation which also nerfs incoming damage on the overshield. for energy I just use archon flow with arcane energize, I have also used 1 purple archon shard just to act as a mini equilibrium (but honestly not needed). Your build however, I like for that instant (close but no cigar) overguard generation, hitting them enemies with a uno reverse card +4 more cards. Cheers!

I've been rolling mostly with two builds: one with just enough strength to fully armor strip and range without compromising on efficiency, icy avalanche and freeze force for damage and marked for death subsumed on his second, the second less survivable but more focused on CC with ice wave impedance, biting frost, max range and precision intensify to bring some strength back on the ability where it matters. I like big globes and I can't lie, and also I find a greater utility in ice wave than most seem to thanks to its ability to slow down even enemies that aren't normally affected by CC abilities. With that considered, I like what you're cooking and that brought back in my plans the idea to build a second frost prime where I can install umbra forma with impunity. Since his recent wave of reworks I've been struggling to choose which direction to go, he's been my main for the longest time afterall, my main fallback whenever I'm not sure who I want to play and the frame I try to make work despite the odds the most.

Def gonna try it. I built Frost with Icy Avalanche and Frost Bite and replaced Ice Wave with Breach Surge. Those combined cause guaranteed red crits that scale pretty good. I rarely use it tho, I think more Overguard is the way to go.

Frost Prime has been my go-to frame since 2017, back when you could get him for free from Twitch Prime. He was actually the first warframe I fully ranked up and mastered, even before Excalibur. For years, I've had to put up with him being compared unfavorably to Limbo, called the "worse Gara" or "the bubble boy." I couldn't tell you how many times I saw people leaving squads just because he was in it. It's so nice to finally be vindicated after all this time. Long live Frost!

Albeit my build was more about using the augment for his first ability to give my Reconifex cold damage and putting Larva on him for enemy grouping, but this is still really nasty. If you wanna know other non common builds, i personally think volt is the best melee frame due to not having to run electricity on your weapon for melee influence with shock trooper. Then you got speed and subsumed roar.

I've been using this for a while now, and it's been doing great. Until recently, I've been getting my energy from Primed Flow, Arcane Energize, and Photon Overcharge. Now I think It's fine sacrifice some extra seconds of freeze time from Avalanche with all the other cold I'm bringing, and run Fleeting Expertise and the new overguard/viral arcane instead of Flow and Energize. Most of what Frost is doing isn't really duration dependent. I think Frost's 2 is pretty good, so I keep it. It's just that his 4 is sooo much better.

Call me basic but I do love using Gloom on his second power. Could run max energy efficiency with a touch of range with umbra mods for greater power strength. Placing gems for more strength or armor or even health regeneration will make you a waking slow zone that nobody can even get close to. This slow effect is a stacked when using the frost bubble which can make holding any ground so simple, bonus fact that gloom itself has extra range on top of the bubble so the more range the bigger zone you can control. Benefits along with having a area to slow enemies down along with gifting life steal freely to anybody within your zone, which mind you can move with you so you can be aggressive or defensive with it. To add you can bring a moa that has ths status shields which got reworked so they are even larger than before so even bullets shot within would be also be slowed. Real deep build possibilities just having one power change is crazy.

If you are willing to sacrifice the two arcane slots for blessing and bellicose and are able to get the hp on frost over 3k you will get the max 72% extra ab strength (assuming maxed bellicose)

Ive got a fun build for you Loki with his decoy augment and Nyx's mindcontrol with its augment. You can make a super charged ally that sucks up agro and unlike his base kit won't hunt you down while invis. Its not amazing But its fun

I've been running a build like this for awhile now, but instead of Parasitic Armor, I use Elemental Ward + Health Conversion so I can keep my shieldgate in addition to the overguard, so I can run the overguard tanking into levels 4000+ if I want to. I've gone to 27 rounds in SP Circuit with Frost, he's very durable, especially with his bubbles being as tanky as they are with this much armor.

I had this but with chroma ele ward it give decent armor while also proccing cold status. Armor is useless to overguard but the cold procs on hit from ele ward still count as an extra defensive layer you also dont sacrifice your shieldgate in the process. Ultimately you also give it to ally which is an added source of cold proc while somewhat helping them in the process too

Well talking about a bit different setups... I've turned my Garuda into a speed demon, using Reave over her 2. Besides standard Molt Reconstruct, I run 5 tauforged cast speed shards which makes casts extremely fast (as one would expect, lol). High cast speed also negates Reave's somewhat sluggish cast animation. There is also a cool tech with Reave that when you cast it in the air, if you hold aim right after you can fly incredibly fast speed forward. The reason why this works so well on Garuda is simply because she can constantly generate infinite energy, being able to spam Reave without worry about energy. There's also other very nice benefits about Reave; it works as a "oh shit" escape tool (as it goes through enemies) and also helps with shield gating due to its shield/health leech. I am often outrunning other speedy frames to the exit with my Garuda. I still remember how somewhat recently when I outran a Gauss player he began madly shooting me at the exit, clearly being a bit pissed off lmao. Garuda basically has Roar as her passive and has infinitely scaling dmg with her 4+1 combo, so the only thing I really wanted for her at that point was movement speed. Sure you can always put parkour velocity shards also but that would mean losing that juicy casting speed.

Nice build. The double umbral requirement was too much for me, so i instead went without Umbral Fiber and had tauforged azure for shields. Then i went with Precision Intensity over Umbral Intensity for higher overshield cap since i'm already getting more overguard conversion due to higher armor.

Hunter Adrenaline now works with overguard if you have no shield. Works great with Parasitic Armor and overguard generation that scales with Armor like Frost. Rhino can do as well but the combo is best on Frost build.

I just got a Riven for the latron which is Crit dmg and blast dmg so along with biting frost I think that's going to be fun. I love frost but I've been playing a lot of Nyx since her rework because the 200% crit chance on confused enemies was so good. Now I know about biting frost (I'm a vet who comes on and off so miss a lot of updates) I'm going to rebuild my frost to his full glory.

My best frame. Synergies are nuts, i use kuva sobek, or kuva karak depending on mission type, secondary is kuva nukor, melee is tenet exec. Replaced his 2nd with roar. Same arecanes you have, no need for health or shields as overguard will keep you alive, my mod loadout is as follows,stand united aura, frost spring exilus, archon flow, blind rage,intensify, biting frost, amars hatred, streamline, augur secrets, icy avalanche. 2 casting speed shards, 1 armor shard, 2 power strength shards. Companion is Sahasa kubrow, who digs up energy orbs while his clones smash everything to pieces dropping more energy orbs.

Truculence is not really worth it, unless you make it low enough overguard so you can spam it. Otherwise you will just get maybe one Viral wave per regular mission.

Frost Prime was my most used Warframe for many years, until Baruuk released. Now Nyx is creeping up on Frost for second place. I know he's been buffed quite a bit but the only reason I mained him so long ago, was for Kuva Survival missions and now you can get the red stuff more easily elsewhere.

Before his rework I thought biting frost should have been his passive and then got reworked but the passive they gave is good. I just wish he didn’t have 3 useless abilities and then 1 super busted one. I guess you could make a usage case for his 1 with the augment but like nobody’s doing that bc why would you? Actually I think his 1 is better to subsume than his 2. You dont need to be able to bust the bubble anymore since you can shoot through it from thw oustide now, and if you want to blow it up for the other effects recasting your 3 from inside will blow the old one up while replacing it with a new one

I use a similar build, kept #2 and got rid of the first. It's not needed especially after the buff where you can shoot through his bubbles so they just don't matter anymore. Used the Void buff to let me strip/reset sentient defences as well as create mag bubbles for headshots. Frost was my first warframe I fell in love with back in 2013, after they fucked his bubble with health AND duration I left him alone until the last year where I fell in love again. All hail the king

I've been using parasitic armor on frost for my circuit build, max range and no strength mods. Praying to RNGesus to get the 600 strength and armor-to-strength decrees. Got a run where my globe had 1M base health and 200k overguard per cast. (Toggling PA Off-On stacks it when u have the armor-strength decree) On my main build, I use melee fortification on my sibear, which easily gives 2k armor to help with the overguard.

I also like using a sentinel with verglas and duplex bond and the cold spread mod to aoe freeze enemies so i don't have to constantly cast avalanchge for the crit buff

My favorite build right now is playing equinox with duality and energy transfer. It’s quite expensive and requires a lot of button pushing but it is quite tanky and lots of fun. I always like having clones cause I find it a neat concept but honestly duality is equinox is crazy. I just wish the rest of her kit worked better

I love running Vial Rush on Frost for good mobility and lots of cold procs. Plus, it doesn't require any energy

@TacticalPotato it's a lot of fun! It's really fast, and since I run max range, it goes for a while. It's not going to be a huge damage increase, and it won't boost your armor as much as parasitic armor, but it is my favorite way to play Frost

Since you can shoot through frosts bubble now theres very few situations you would need to destroy his bubble, so i would replace his 1 since frost’s 2 is a great way to freeze groups of enemies.

With how much energy this has, I would drop equilibrium, and throw a purple archon shard in. Small equilibrium effect, and you get a mod slot back for more range/armor/health/strength/efficiency, but I can imagine this being super fun when paired with a fun secondary that can take full advantage of the crit from biting frost and arcane overcharged on the weapon (+300% crit chance while you have overshields)... Think orange crits kuva nukor with 15x~ crit damage

Rather than Parasitic I prefer to use Breach Surge, because Biting Frost makes the sparks to crit too. Not really needed since there is no armor but it looks funny when the sparks crit for 1mil.

While it might be Overkill, Ive been using Arcane Truculence on Frost. With a single ability cast I can armor strip, give myself Overguard, give myself enhanced Critical Stats, give myself increased Armor, freeze enemies in place, and apply 10 Viral Stacks to all enemies.

@@raptorvenom7983 Arcane Truculence retriggers anytime you gain 3K Overguard or cross a 3K (x multiple) Overguard threshold (this includes 6K, 9K, 12K, etc.).

I do the same thing on my Rhino to get a big (not as big as Frost) Iron Skin. I'm kind peeved that Rhino's 2nd is worse now with overguard. I hope he gets a light rework, mostly for his augments.

Man, I am super curious on how you will build Oberon this year (if you actually do get to him), since I just can't really make a build with him that isn't a worse version of some other warframes' "thing" ,especially now that trinity can do revives, and Nyx can do radiation/confusion.

Long story short my build for oberon is a copy paste of the Energy Tank Chroma build, but on Oberon; Arcane Battery, Primed Flow, Quick Thinking, Arcane Ultimatum and Elemental Ward. Quick thinking turns health into effective energy, Arcane Battery scales energy max off armor. Primed Flow gives you more max energy. Cold Elemental Ward & Arcane Ultimatum give you a ton of armor to scale w/ Arcane Battery so your effective health becomes larger. Paired with 3 Tau Azure Health Regen shards, I get around 100 health per second, 2500 Armor, and 1370 max energy. Works out to a fairly tanky Oberon build.
