I think you should have noted the Hammerstrike also has deep strike so it and Uriel’s selected unit can both come down on deep strike potentially allowing the hammer to hit first strip cover and then the Plasma for example to strike?

My favorite loyalist legions are Salamanders and Imperial Fists which both work well with my favorite SM models being the ones in gravis armor

Importantly, while the models found in the vanilla SM Combat Patrol aren't super great for learning the game, that's not the real reason not to buy it. The real reason is because almost every model is found in the Starter Set for cheaper, or all of the models for the Ultimate Starter set for only $40-ish more. Both have the added bonus of coming with a bunch of Tyranid models, that you can either keep yourself, or sell or trade for money back and/or more Space Marines. So even if you don't START with the Starter Set (either kind, depending on if you like the terrain), it's still a great deal for adding to the army. Sooner or later, you'll want Terminators, and probably some HQ models to go with them.

Eh maybe Gun Terminators and Infernus marines are some of the worst datasheets in the faction. Getting them now is mostly an investment in hoping they're redesigned in 11th edition.

Also, we went from separate codexes completely to having supplements, where chaos Marines started with one codex and now run like old school space Marines used to, some things in common, but tons of different rules.

I know for the purpose of the video youve used the bladeguard for calgar from the CP box, but id try shuffle 5 points around so you can drop 90pts of 3x 3 wound bladeguard for 95pts of 4x 4wound Company Heroes! Bladeguard arent that great atm, especially 3, and you wanna protect calgar as much as possible with their -1 to wound ability too on the CH!

Gladius 2000 points: Lion El'Johnson Gravis Catain + Artificer Armor Techmarine + Honour Vehement Judiciar 6 ICC (with Judiciar) 5 Deathwing Knights 5 Deathwing Knights 5 Scouts 5 Assault interssors Ballistus Dreadnought Ballistus Dreadnought Brutalis Dreadnought Redemptor Dreadnought Should be not that easy to kill this list. besides the ICC unit every unit with 2+ save, the Knights and the captain with 4++, the Lion even with 3++. This will be fun. If you replace one deathwing Knights with deathwing Terminators you could play Azrael instead of the Judiciar. But I like the big Knights more.

Hello everyone. Serious question. To be competitive with SM, do you need to pick epic heroes? UM: MC and or Uriel. Or Gil. Same with other Chapters

@ I suggested on Daka that 11th SM codex could have an option to make a generic Chapter Master or vanilla epic hero for Vanilla your own chapter SM. Very simple: Captain stats with an increase in 1 stat and point cost based on which type of unit type: Tactical, Gravis, Bike, Jump Pack, Terminator. weapon choices include the relic/master crafted like Captain models. Could be more creative by adding an extra ability based on unit type. But keep it clean.

Get a Land Raider redeemer, some flamestorm aggressors, a gravis captain, and maybe some inceptors and you’ll have a good, kill-y start. Grab intercessors and go from there. Infernus Marines are cheap and plentiful and you could grab some of those, and then kitbash or 3d print a vulcan he’stan!

Salamanders are more difficult to get into than Ultramarines since they have a smaller breadth of less powerful unique units - personally I'd start with Ultras and expand into the melta focused Salamanders stuff from there once you've got a handle on it. But I might visit the specific subtractions individually in the future.

@TacticalTortoise I actually despise all things space marine related because of how I was brought into the game. Moving from one group to another didnt really help me either. Witnessing how literal this "loyalty vs heresy" is in real life, im talking life and death. Sorry to those who enjoy the many legions. It really just goes downhill for space marines with time for me. That's neither here nor there, I've been following your channel for a while and was excited to see this pop up. It came just hours after my girlfriend finally chose a legion. We had both chose two armies each and unfortunately Salamanders was one of her picks. I posted a before and after comment but I guess I was hoping hear at least "this unit could work but is better with this legion" of sorts.

You can play Imperial Fists in any Detachment... which is what I'd recommend doing. Anvil Siege Force is very difficult to get value from 😅

Rules number one...ignor those "best armys im 40k", ignor winrates and Meta units. If you knew your units, your army and if you developing your own playstile, you will always be better then someone that just play the flavors of the mouth.

Been playing since 2nd edition, so it's a little late for me to start a space marine army, as I already have thousands of points worth. I have like 40k pts worth of first born, and another 20k in primaris. That said, there still might be useful information in here, so gonna watch anyway! (Plus I just enjoy this channel)

They've gotten many delisted in the past, but hosting is distributed within the community so there's no one way to take the mods down. I suspect at this point they've directed their energy elsewhere, since to some extent it's free marketing
