Take back your energy! It will terrify them. When "you" control what does and doesn't effect you. Then others can't control what does and doesn't effect you. The ability to master your emotions and decide what does and doesn't deserve your "energy" is quite empowering. When you no longer care, and you give off that energy, they will fear you.

Always rings true what you say. 25 years of abuse, chronic lack of empathy to me was the lightning strike that set the cracks into motion towards the tower crumbling. I left the burning house to save myself. Little did I realise then how horrendous my life would become. I chose in that moment to give up, nothing seems to be enough. The challenge was to break out of the coffin narc nailed me into with full entrapment to destroy me. Thats on a whole new level I wish apon no one. It drives ypu to insanity, depression, sleep for days on end, suicide and a destroyed soul. Almost killed me. I try to let it all go, forgive myself first then the child trauma that made narc what they are is hardest. I still try or working on to forgive that toxic hurt in them that tried to phycologically murder me. It does ya head in, like you keep saying its so hard you get it! Oh my goodness, it reminds me of the fool I had in my life, he offered me a watch, it was pretty and feminine and a ring. I asked him where are they from because they weren't in nice boxes or anything, he said oh it's from my ex, they are yours now. I said no thank you. this is huge! Simplicity at its best… I have been involved in a narcissistic relationship for 21 years and have been studying it for two years in depth just to wrap my mind around it. I’m no Stranger, to the fight, flight, freeze, and fond of effect. Assuming, that I can totally knew what it meant when people were talking about it. However, this video really struck a chord with me… I am in anxiety, thinking mode, just wanting everything to be OK, no matter what… It just needs to be OK now then after that, I’ll be able to think clearly… But as long as I can make it OK right now! I didn’t realize I was actually experiencing one of these thought processes, as they always seemed so analytical in retrospect.

It is unexpected or insidious, we need reminding, how we are constantly getting de-valued, yes, then spending time and energy as to the whys etc. You won't be able relax, feel good, but now and then. Women leave them, they get more (abandonment) damaged, the cycled repeats worse. A good quality person they can't even 'see', as he spends time, to make me feel wrong, de-valued, rather than just communicate properly, recognize mistakes. They just 'lose out' and are their own worse enemy.

I’m going through this exact scenario right now, I just cut her off today. Why this push me pull you mentality if they truly wanted you to stick around? I thought I was being discarded, certainly tormented. I think her new supply is a narc too, It’s just too bizarre! I’m done after 5-1/2 years. I believe they are so broken inside that they will do anything to try to heal something that can’t be healed in adult life. I was 50 years in a relationship but only questioned what was happening when he found another supply for giving him the attention he craved. So I slowly got my head together over a two-year period - I needed this time to question my life and not just throw those years together away before I felt I had tried everything to keep the relationship going. In this time I learned about narcissism/borderline personality disorder and sadly that’s when I realised my whole life had been a lie with this person. I am now divorcing this person and getting what life I have left back on track and learning the real me. Not there yet and I may need some help/therapy but I’ll get there. I’ll just leave this with you .... When I left him he was telling our friends that “he NEEDS me”. I replied - exactly, NEEDS not WANTS. Stay strong!

43yrs of chronic abuse, and just figured out what was going on. I'm currently grieving the loss of the years of my life I've wasted. I love who I thought he was but the hate and contempt I feel is over powering the love. I was using gray rock until his BS, attacks ,passive aggressive comments and telling me that the family thinks I'm the one with the problem and I should make a Dr's appointment. Let me tell you, I ripped him a new one! Sure felt good! I just don't care anymore. I'm going to go back to gray rock and see if he's going to poke that bear again.

My situation was pretty odd because my family was just pretty damaged . You sound like you had some real hideous people around you and you were never even able to come up for air. Beautiful women learn early that they have the Force, which is exactly what it is over men. If they are of evil intent they will have a history, multiple marriages, relationships etc. Ala Elizabeth Taylor..the Gabor sisters etc. It has become apparent to me that unless, a man, absolutely does not want to Fuuk a woman...he will not be effective in dealing with her!
