This type of Taekwondo no longer exists. 80's and 90's Taekwondo, men got on the mat and fought like warriors. It was a feast for the eyes to see.

@@paulz4667 LOL, ITF. ITF was an figment of deposed a figurehead's imagination in the first place. The single most valuable lesson to be learned from ITF Taekwondo is the value of being first and being loud. It's insane how non-comparable WT and the ITF are in size, scale, scope and purpose.

I used to train tkd in this era and let me tell you. That protective vest doesn't protect you much. You still get winded, you still feel (alot) of pain. But not does save you from broken ribs. A mate said to me did kicks don't hurt, so I put the Hugo on him and kicked him in the stomach 70% power. He buckled and was on the floor for a few minutes 😂

First fight, there was excellent technique/power in that reverse side kick that winded the England competitor through the body armour. Having competed in ITF/WTF and MT, myself, I know that WTF TKD is a total mess, the rules ruin WTF and have created an impractical fighting system/unimpressive spectacle. The South Koreans need to put politics aside, and unify TKD under ITF rules, then we would be off to the races. Back in the day, I took a GF to a WTF tournament, I told her we were going to see a martial arts tournament for people who had lost the use of the hands. She sat through it all, and never once commented that they seemed to be using their hands when not fighting. I asked her what she thought, she said they were great for handicapped people! and in a way, she was right, lol.

Only in your dreams... These guys are connecting spinning kick combinations like they're walking in the park. Today, depending on the (mc)dojang, you may find "black belts" who don't even know how to kick. These dudes are amazing, specialy the koreans.

@MarinhoRFilho mcdojo has always existed, but If you think that todays fighters are that weak, you should prove It, Go to your weight class's National (or state) Champion and Challenge him to a tkd fight whit no eletronics. And please film It.
