What always fascinated me about his vocals is that he wasn't born with a voice like a lot of other idols. He had to work hard and practice for days on end for years to learn how to master his voice and learn his strengths since his voice is so unique. That's one of the reasons that makes him an Ace in kpop in my opinion. His dedication to everything he does is nothing short of amazing and every performance I watch I am just more and more amazed and in awe of his talents and stage presence. I personally think their style really gave impact to kpop nowadays. They really have 'brave' style if I am not mistaken since I was following them since 2010 or so. Previously the clothing style, hair style of kpop boyband is not like today's style, they seems more just... black, white something, mostly showing manly side, not so many boyband wearing colorful cloths, at that time Shinee being brave by showing different style. Thing is- when he debuted he couldn’t sing! He was known for being “tone deaf” but he worked his ass off and took notes from his members and teachers and peers and oh my god did he prove himself. I’m so proud of him for making his voice work for him and defying the odds. You can hear who his influences are (especially bling bling) clearly and you can tell how much effort he puts into it and for me that’s so much more appreciated than someone who was born with a “good” voice and stayed at the same level their whole career with no intentions of improving.

Someone recently asked me why I "thirst" for this man so much for this man and I had to explain that I although his physical image and style o very attractive I'm absolutely enamored with his passion. This man came up from being considered a really bad singer to wowing crowds into silence, something which, if you know fans of anything when they're in a concert it is a rare experience to have an all silenced crowd and have it be for a good reason. This man does not give up on perfecting his form, his movement, his vocal, his character and even his discipline. I don't think he will ever stop wanting to be the best he can be. He's always learning. There's something so fiercely appealing about a man who just wants to be their very best 100 percent of the time! Like God damn, do you know how much dedication that takes?? Like the way he moves and sings, it looks and sounds effortless... Like. Just take the song Move and try to mimick his flow. I have yet to see a dancer who can look as attractive and smooth as taemin. He makes every song and dance his to a point when you look at someone else copy it it can look wonderful but it still doesn't hold to Taemin's performance. He is the type of man who will give you soft vibes that break the stereo typical mold for men in music who aren't being pushed out as feminine or androgynous. He can also be very bold and cocky (in like the nicest way, which is like fucking refreshing) and take on the persona of a string male lead... And he is all these things but at his core he is so humble and still so much like a child. And he doesn't even always feel like he deserves praise when in reality he has the absolute right to be cocky and proud of his skills. But instead he just wants to show his art form and is content with just getting any chance to be on stage doing what he loves. And I know this is a rant, but like, if loving a man's passion and dedication to his life long goals is being thirsty or fangirly then bet your ass I'm thirsty for the man who sings songs like Thirsty and switches over to Soldier so easily. Like, I'm rarely emotional over people I don't know but this guy gets me fired up because he truly deserves to be seen in an absolute positive light. Okay I'm done. Humans need to understand that Taemin is GREAT and SUPER TALENTED than most out there because he was consistent! You can see the improvement from 2008 to present. It’s a consistent massive improvement. He is one of the most hardworking. Idols stating that Taemin is their role-model is because they know how difficult it is to be him. His talent is unmatched, you can’t find a legendary dancer who can sing flawlessly. He is an ACE, period!

He was actually..but he was a kid at that time. It was good that he didn't practice at that time. Otherwise, he could have hurt his voice. but Taemin is a true example of hard work and consistency. he is a GREAT singer now. he improvise himself each day. so If a person is blind and deaf in 2020 who doesn't recognize or discover this talent. then just ignore them. I can only feel sad for them. :D :D

Here’s the thing, you can’t improve on something you don’t have. Taemin has always had the raw talent for singing. It’s just that he discovered his love of dancing much earlier, so it was his most developed talent when he debuted. Add in the fact that he was going through puberty at the time, which affected his voice. What’s truly amazing is his perseverance to learn, on working so hard to achieve his dreams. So proud of him.

When they debut, taemin didn't really have so much confidence in singing. He improve more and more thanks to jonghyun. Till now, we can hear a bit of jonghyun in the way taem sing. Just like tame say, he wanted to sing like jonghyun

I recently watched a video of Adrian McKinnon talking about how great of an artist Taemin is. I think he said something like "taemin didnt see himself as a great singer but HE IS. He doesnt show it all the time but when he actually uses all his power, he's very good at it". That's not exactly what he said but pretty close to that. Point is, those who criticized taemin's vocal ability usually knows no shit about music and the art of performance. Those who know, well they know how amazing taemin is.

Taemin voice is so unique! i really like it. As far as I know, men's voices change after puberty , that's happened to my two brothers, on the other hand, the other members had already passed that phase. What I do believe is in his really hard work to improve vocal techniques, I don't think you can change your voice just by training so much, just his voice is naturally pretty now that he's grown up.
