Not trying to be a stuck up dick with this next question, but have you guys ever gone through an addiction and then become completely sober? I did it with multiple substances and dated someone who was doing all of them. I didn’t feel sorry for them I felt like I was being the boring one. I think there’s more meaning behind him saying “it’s depressing to think about”. Because he also says just prior to that how much fun it was. I think he’s depressed about the status quo he has achieved. He’s always been someone who is discontent. I think he’s sad he can’t enjoy things that should be fun like everyone else. He has a disposition that will ruin his life. Sobriety doesn’t mean happiness. It means equilibrium for stability. But he still craves fun and hasn’t been able to find it. That’s why “yoga” is said slightly sarcastically. “At least I have yoga”. Trust me, SOME of us (not all) we do sobriety to stay healthy, safe and from total destruction. But it doesn’t automatically mean happiness.

Yeah I’m 2 years sober and definitely feel like 24 months is like “I’m out of it!” The idea of being 9 years clean and one day just being like “hey I guess I’ll do an opiate now” seems crazy, but I guess that’s what makes alcohol even harder to stay clean off of. For me if I changed my life around I probably never encounter my drug of choice, for an alcoholic you can become as “normal” as possible and alcohol will still be around and seen as normal.

@@fanda6122 those aren't the only times they did it. He says in this very video that they did it on and off for years, but it never really got bad until 2021. He has said that he can't even deny using it without people calling him an addict, and ultimately not believing what he says. This proves him correct.

@@Acid_Assassin im aware he was a full fledged addict and like any addict tries to minimize here, i don't buy the "on/off" bullshit lol every function they attended was a cornball bushwick event with cocaine involved. parties, comedy shows etc. if youve ever lived in a city like philly or ny you know art hoe adjacent types cant get enough of the stuff. he even used to say how luis hated him until they did blow together at the stand then they became close friends that was like 2015-2016.

Doing this shit frequently in your mid-late 30s is a bad sign. Doing it once or twice in your early 20s is the norm. Being in a comedy circle is definitely not the best litmus test for if you're "doin' alright"
